He'd let that kid swing there all day if he didn't have a job to do

I think he may worry a bit too much. Val-Salians have a vastly increased tolerance for "weird" due to, well...everything.

CompletelyNewguy

Look at it this way, an unspoken part of being a guard is making sure the public feels safe and happy! While not necessary, definitely appreciated. Edit: In short he's already overperforming. :)

Russet

The continued musings of a conscientious Graboid.

Ngrasta

"I am the Law!"

MysteryCryptid

I love these yinglets And contemplating being tough while being adorable. Such a baxxid thing

Vet

By these acts he builds trust and friendship….that is what makes a good protector. The making of a true neighborhood beat cop.

Finvaara

Somebody get that Baxxid an emoji necklace, so he can flip over the smiley face tile and the laughing tile whenever he wants.

John C Butler

I love that he's having this extestential crisis about being perceived as a humorless enforcer of the Law humans can't relate to while being used as playground equipment by a child.

Fox Starwing

When your internal emo monologue is absolutely shattered by a kid wanting uppies.

Thorin N. Tatge

Sometimes the comic must slow down for sweets.

ComicTF

You're great at these quiet moments of reflection.

BiasMushroom721

Bruh out here not thinking he a protector for the squishy things that are really easy to be squished. Hard for people to be afraid of the things who are constantly conscious of their actions but also willingly risk being (forgot the word but rejected by one’s society) just to protect them

valsalia

Exposure can normalize anything!

valsalia

That's his life in this moment

valsalia

(Please don't be scared of me tho)

valsalia

And a buddy to hang around and use their hands to flip it when the baxxid asks

valsalia

Preciousness of a commodity tends to be tied to its market rarity

valsalia

Kal's just a bit of a worrier

valsalia

The two can exist simultaneously!

valsalia

Ay, thanks! Of course I always want to keep things moving along, but I fully admit I'm a huge sucker for slice-of-life stuff like this. : D

valsalia

Yeahhh most people figure if there's a baxxid doing work like this, then they're probably really committed to it!

Finvaara

I thought maybe you could hang it high and/or forward enough that the mandibular feelers on the side might be able to reach it, even though they aren't great at fine motor control, I figured flipping over a tile (that was mounted on a necklace so you can't accidentally drop it or lose it) would be within their ability.

While I definitely started following your comic for the yinglets, I'm fascinated by the world you have created and all its various species.
