Mox Amber is a quiet image painted with meticulous detail – perhaps too much detail for a tiny trading card. Who would commit to such monotony, knowing it would never be seen at scale?

Ivern

I was rewatching one of your videos, thinking it’s been a bit since you last posted.

I think a lot about how people always compare the old and new art directions for magic cards. To me the main difference between “classic” magic card art that sets it apart, is just scale of the subject in the artwork. Old magic might not have been as detailed but it was so much more legible, and that’s what makes it more memorable. It’s so much harder to appreciate the new stuff when it’s 2 inches tall, but when you blow it up like this it’s insane.

And THIS is why being detail oriented is a super power and not an obsession! I could say this about all your videos, but this one just hammered it home. Thanks for always growing my knowledge of and love for this game. You make my day when you post a new video, Sam.

I mean counting the individual links was a bit obsessive

Maybe, but it made for a cool talking point, which I appreciated🙂
