I'm A Dad + Four Years of Red Deck Wins (Patreon)

Hey everyone,
1) I'm a father! My wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last week. He's healthy, she's recovering, and we're already so in love with him. Everything they say about becoming a parent is true. I've been taking photographs like mad, consoling him as he cries, and cuddling him as he sleeps. We've been staying up into the night watching playoff basketball together (I'm feeling very grateful for living in a later time zone.) Also – changing diapers isn't so bad!Time already feels more slippery than normal...I'll continue to work on Rhystic Studies in a smaller capacity over the next few months, but everything might move a little slower as a result. If you need to adjust your support here, please do so. Freelancing is tricky because there are no formal breaks or structured parental leave. My immediate priority is just helping my wife get back on her feet and keeping her company through the pain and fatigue of it all. Nonetheless, I will be chipping away at the next project in the time between.
2) Four Years of Red Deck WinsTo celebrate the fourth anniversary of Red Deck Wins, I'll be hosting a livestream on May 27, 2026 at 8:30pm Central. I'll post about it on socials and will schedule the event on YouTube as we get closer, so keep an eye out. I hope you can make it!This will be similar to last year's revisit to Innistrad. I've written a follow-up essay that I will recite live. Then, we'll watch the video together, and I'll have a short Q&A afterwards. I had a blast hanging with folks in the chat last time and have been itching to do another. No better time than now to celebrate my favorite video I've ever made.
Here's the kicker: I reached out to Tyler Day, aka ropearrow, and commissioned a killer illustration for the channel's first playmat. I added a teaser image to this post; needless to say I'm so stoked on the result. Patrons will get a discount code and early access to purchase the playmat, Tyler will get a kickback on sales, we'll all celebrate art made by human hands...you know the drill.
Alright!
Thanks so much for the ongoing support. You all make me proud to be here.
Can't wait to teach this little guy how to cast Lightning Bolt...
