The letter in the safe was supposed to do two things, one, identify the motel where Nacho was hiding so the Salamancas could kill him, and two, the bank statement was a fabrication that made it appear that Nacho was working for someone in Peru. The Salamanacas knew he was a mole for someone, so this was Fring planting evidence to keep the Salamancas from blaming him. That whole plan was only needed if you remember because Lalo surprisingly took Nacho to Mexico right when Fring was going to kill Lalo. Once an attack took place, if Nacho were to survive he would be an obvious suspect, so he was as good as dead to Fring at that point. Mike wanted to try to pull Nacho out so him and his father could escape into hiding but Gus would have none of that. Gus hated the Salamanacas so much that he was incapable of viewing any of them with any respect, even though Nacho hated them too. So this is why Fring was setting Nacho up in the motel with the letter in the safe. Backing up... they used Nacho to get Lalo's gates open, but needed to give him a chance to escape. If they would have killed him at the doors that could have made noise and blew the surprise. So I believe the plan all along was to let Nacho escape, make him think that Fring was trying to help him, but then they led him to the motel where eventually the Salamancas would catch up to him and kill him. But Nacho was too smart and he eventually saw through it. So as of now Nacho probably figures that he's on his own and that everyone wants him dead.

I'd watch a Kettleman spin off mini series or something.. these two are just hilarious xD

lol what? how did i miss that.. thanks dude :)

CJ

I seen these episodes so many times, but this is the first time I noticed the HG Wells book on the nightstand when he gets the call from the kettleman's, I know it's in the opening scene for season 6 as well.

I'm with Daniel on this one: Chuck still sucks. Jimmy and Kim's dark turn doesn't change that at all. I don't think they are right about Kim's motive being primarily the money. I think there is something else going on. I've watched a few reactions now. Daniel was definitely the first to pick up on Lalo's plan to use that couple to fake his death.

Marcus Cato

Hope you enjoy. I only thought I'd listen to a few minutes but the whole thing is gold.

Just an fyi, Rhea Seehorn's first name is pronounced 'Ray'. It's like shea (shea butter), but with an R.

MJ

Chuck did suck but the issue is he had to deal with Jimmy for 50+ plus years. If you are annoyed with Jimmy/Kim over the Howard plan, imagine being Chuck and dealing with Jimmy's scheming, short cutting his entire life.

Opie Wan

"Who is following them?" - Mike told Gus that he had guys watching everywhere Lalo might show up. His guys were keeping an eye on them.

Opie Wan

You hate what they're doing to Howard. You're going to love/hate what comes next.

Will D

I wonder if you guys should stop reading comments until after the finale. I'm so worried someone is going to spoil things for you... :(

Michael Chavira

This is a spoiler. That car following them was meant to be a mystery.

Chris Bruneau

the character assassination of Howard never sat well with me, and I love Jim and Kimmy. this was WRONG-- full stop.

Tyler Foster

The one thing I think about what they're doing to Howard that is at least a LITTLE relevant is that Kim does state in Episode 1 that this will merely "bruise" Howard. It's not GOOD to start rumors that Howard is a drug addict, but there is also a natural ceiling to the wrongdoing because Howard can also just take a drug test and be totally exonerated. Ultimately, all they're doing to him is starting a rumor, which in some ways is not any worse than when Jimmy hired the sex workers to confront Howard at lunch. There will, of course, be people who no longer trust Howard, and of course, actions have unintended consequences, but it also feels like it may have slipped by you that at least Jimmy and Kim do not think they are going to do permanent damage to Howard's reputation because he can always prove himself innocent.

Tyler Foster

Also when Hector reaches out to shake Gus's hand, for a second, his hand covers up half of Gus's face.

Something else interesting.... Breaking Bad: Walt kills Gus BCS: Kim manipulates Lalo into letting her and Jimmy go. See the similarities in the character changes from these events? They were launching points to release the inner-most monsters of each of those characters.

Abel Salas Jr

I think you guys will look back and be surprised how close you were with several of your speculations. Bravo 👏
