Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 10 'Nippy' Full TV Reaction!!

This one was a little bit divisive when it came out, but I thought it was interesting to see what became of Saul's life after everything comes crashing down at the end of Breaking Bad. P.S. Daniel was right. They were forced to change actors for Jeff when the original actor was not available.

Ah, the late, great Carol Burnett

Carol Burnett for the record is still alive.

Smooticus

Huh. I could have sworn she died. Further proof I'm turning into my parents

Yes, they had to re-cast the cab driver, because the original actor was not available. He was filming another TV show.

It is currently OCT 2010 in Nebraska - Gene Takovic has been in Omaha for 6 months, having fled Albuquerque in APR 2010. Gene is 49 years-old - Walter White has been dead for 1 month. He died on his 52nd birthday SEPT 7th, 2010 - Saul Goodman met Walter White for the first time in DEC 2008. Saul worked for Walter for 1 year and 10 months

There was indeed an original actor who portrayed Jeff. His name is Don Harvey, who personally speaking, I immediately recognized from his on-screen involvement in 'TAK3N' aka 'Taken 3'. He made a couple of appearances as Jeff in two prior black-and-white timeline scenes. However, that was before some worldwide interference from this whole global pandemic thing called COVID hit, which obviously messed up schedules. So, by the time when he would be needed for the role of Jeff to become a more prominently featured one during the second half of the sixth season, Don Harvey was no longer available, due to another acting commitment. Thus, an actor by the name of Pat Healy was recast as Jeff. The character of the taxi driver was the same in both episodes but you are correct, the actor was re-cast.

Fun fact, when Gene makes his first visit to the security office, the security starts talking about a college football game. The game he is referring to was a real game between Nebraska & Texas which took place on October 16, 2010. "Martinez" is Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez who had a bad game. Nebraska did indeed play Oklahoma State the following week and won that game 51-41.

"So, after all that... a happy ending." There have always been a few lines that stick out to me during this final season. This line from Gene, about a happy ending, being one of them. With such a long break between seasons 5 and 6, there was a lot of time for people to come up with so many theories about how the story would close. The anticipation was very high. Because of that, I feel that there are times the writers inserted lines that are speaking directly to, or about, the audience and our attempts to predict the plot. In episode 1, Kim looking toward the camera, says: "It has to be paced right, if we move too fast, they'll see us coming. And it has to make sense. It doesn't have to stand up in court, but there has to be a reason for everything." In episode 2, Mike looking toward the camera, says: "Whatever happens next, it's not gonna go down the way you think it is." Now we get to episode 10, where the show completely changes direction. Even the intro glitches into something different. After all the drama, the ups and downs, and emotional damage the characters (and audience) have been through this season, we get Gene with a slight smirk on his face, looking toward the camera/audience saying: "after all that... a happy ending"

Are you doing 3 episodes next week or will you be doing 2 next week and the finale the week after that?

might be too late and not really a big deal, but i would recommend trying to avoid the episodes titles going forward.
