Why not all of them 🤷‍♂️🤣

UnlicensedOkie

Highly recommend Dog Soldiers (2002)

thansen

Trick r Treat is my favorite of those. Sinister is the most shocking. Sleepy Hollow has incredible atmosphere and is a different take on the Irving classic. And The Others also has great atmosphere with a nice twist.

Tyler Foster

Warning: Dead-Alive is out-of-print on disc and not available on streaming.

Daniel Karlsson

Let the Right One In is great. Probably my favorite Swedish movie.

Tyler Foster

C'mon In the Mouth of Madness...

Loyd

It Follows

Anthony Donato

A Quiet Place would be my pick (Emily Blunt, John Krasinski ).

Chris

Still gotta do The Lighthouse

Hunter DeRensis

I'm pulling for Let the Right One In (2008). It's one of the best of the genre. But if you guys want to dip your toes in some classic horror--on top of Nosferatu (1922)--then you can't go wrong with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) or The Invisible Man (1933). Those hold up the best for modern palettes.

mikethemotormouth

Creepshow should be an easy win. Stephen King, George Romero directing, and makeup dept is Tom Savini. It's a trifecta!

Toc

Creepshow all the way!!!! Great to see it on the poll! It's like the all-star game of horror!

Toc

Love that '31 version of "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde", that's the best version, absolutely. Love "The Invisible Man" as well. My fave horror of the 30s however is 'Island Of Lost Souls"! But all three of those hold up fantastic, definitely.

Donna Castellano

I'm great if Sleepy Hollow or In the Mouth of Madness wins. The latter is freaking bonkers.

Brian's Dog

Silent films would require some heavy lifting with the commentary probably.

Pam Nail

No way it's winning but I had to vote for Possession. I haven't seen anyone react to that and it is INSANE.

Florian Meier

Possesion is Great !!! Sleepy Hollow is a solide Winner ... But Jack Nicholsons The Witches of Eastwick is Missing

MacGuffinStuff

Oh shit, just watch them all lol, no but I think voted for at least a third (it's more than half) as must watches. I am a huge horror fan so I'm so psyched for the season of the spooky, but I did just notice you have IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS. And in your other poll I recommended THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS, because it's the second movie in John Carpenter's "Apocalypse" Trilogy, but honestly the movies, because they're not really sequels, you can watch them out of order I suppose. Can anyone else verify this because I'm not sure if they are connected necessarily in anyway, to me the connection was more about the theme of apocalypse, but not direct connection between the stories or characters???

MacGuffinStuff

I voted for Possession because although I've never seen it, it always comes up in rankings of great horror movies, mostly underrated, and the other movies in those rankings are total fuckin bangers.

MacGuffinStuff

Creepshow is great and in my opinion Creepshow 2 is even better, it has my favorite of the stories in Creepshow, not gonna say which but the ending is so perfect, chef's kiss horror status, it even has a moral everyone should learn...

Birdie Num Num

Night of the Living Dead lost the most recent horror poll by 1 vote to The Witch. Surprised you didn't include it in this poll(unless you already were planning to react to it).

Backlog Andy M.

My wife showed me The Strangers 2008. One scene creeped the hell out of me. The Blob 1988. Not seen that since back then on the old VHS. Barbarian is creepy as well!

Grinznmore

Let the Right One In. Intrigue, romance and horror.

Aaron Barlow

Let the right one in is great.

Musashi

Blair Witch Project

Vincent Hollow

BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB! BLOB!

Lana Gorgeous

Let Me In, 2010 with a 13 year old Chloë Grace Moretz is the one to watch. A great horror film and also a lesson on bullying. I highly recommend it.

Grumpy Old Gen-Xer

I will literally vote for ANYTHING made before 2000. You should create 2 polls. One for films made in the 20th Century and another for films made in the 2000s.

TBR Schmitt

We just did a 60s poll and we’re watching Night of the Living Dead for Spooky Season! We can’t split every poll up by date 😉 -Sam

Rudy Hernandez

The Others & Sleepy Hollow are great.

Birdie Num Num

looking through past polls and I see The Howling has never been on one. I think it would do well in a poll, its one of the few classic 80s horror you haven't seen yet.

Michael SCH

Is Sleepy Hollow that popular? I didn't realise there were so many fans! I always thought it was more of a dark fantasy film than a horror film.

David Wilkins

I think the source material is certainly Horror, but the terrifically stylized vision of Tim Burton edges into the realm of Fantasy.

David Wilkins

Great to see Sleepy Hollow with a significant lead. It’s such a fantastic production.

Look out, Arbogast!

I saw a 35mm print 2 years ago at the Academy Museum roof screening. It's absolutely gorgeous. Really miss when Tim Burton movies felt handcrafted before his cgi-infested era came about after the mid 2000s.

OddThomas

Sleepy Hollow, 30 Days of Night

Vincent Hollow

You guys teasing me hardcore every time I see The Blob pop up in these horror polls only to watch it get squashed. 🤣

Browniewin

I think the 2010 American remake "Let Me In", is preferable to the original 2008 "Let the Right One In" The remake of "The Blob" is fun.

Vincent Hollow

I always leaned a little more towards The Howling over American Werewolf. I like the look of the Howling werewolves more. I read the book it was "based" on last year (the director thought it sucked and basically rewrote it). And aside from the chapter-long 🍇 scene, I thought it was pretty good.

YoureMrLebowski

I'm curious, which one did you see first?

YoureMrLebowski

Side note: I don't think you can squash The Blob. Literally.

Browniewin

I saw the original one first and found the little boy too annoying to stand. It was a long time ago so I don't remember exactly, it was probably a dubbed version, and I think it was his voice that grated on my nerves.

Catherine LW

The Others is a great scary film! Too bad it won’t win.

Tinderbox

The original version of "The Haunting" (1963)

Claudia

ugh been waiting so long for Let the right one in!

David Wilkins

I’m enthusiastic about the Sleepy Hollow reaction. I think Sam and Dan will get a kick out of it. Such a great ride into the world of Burton.
