Help pick the Action movie we will react to!

Please feel free to suggest other options in the comments for future polls!

NOTE: I have seen Bad Boys, Wanted and Water World so this would only be Sam's first time watching!

Jonathan Patrick

Timecop was at the height of Van Dammes career, great movie 🍿

JoshG

I want bad boys specifically so we can get to bad boys 2😂

Backlog Andy M.

To Live And Die In LA. Is a 80s gem 💎 and the orginal Assault On Precinct 13. Im torn!

Athos Count de la Fère

To Live and Die in LA. An underrated gem. William Dafoe is great in that part.

Mike Bridges

21 Bridges starring the late Chadwick Boseman

TBR Schmitt

This poll had over 30 entries, so it's a little all over the place for when we cut it down haha -Sam

Ian

Lots of good choices here 🔥 you can't really go wrong with any of them tbh 🙂

Backlog Andy M.

Double Impact. DOUBLE THE VAN DAMAGE 🤣 i still remember the trailer to that one!

EdmanXERO

I've been waiting for both Bad Boys and Broken Arrow. The music alone in both movies are amazing, but they are overall classics.

thansen

My favorite of those I have seen is Assault on Precinct 13.

Paul Cox

Ideally, we can get To Live and Die... and Assault... to both win in a tie.

TBR Schmitt

Also, Face/Off is coming haha before anyone asks! -Sam

Paul Cox

That movie's too over the top for me, but you're gonna make thousands of other people very happy lol

Red Tail Zephier

Triple tie for Cobra, Live and Die and Assault on Precinct 13, fingers crossed

John Zelinka

But *do* those snakes have a plan??

Shehab Dawoud

Which Bad Boys are we talking about? The one from 1983 is not an action movie. If it’s the Will Smith-Martin Lawrence one, that is an action movie. But it’s from 1995.

Paul Cox

It would be funny if Bad Boys actually won, with everyone thinking it's the Smith-Lawrence film, but they really DO react to the 1983 one and the YT comments section burns to the ground.

TBR Schmitt

Welp… that was my bad lol I meant the 1995 one. Why is there always an issue with this movie? I think one poll I wrote Bed Boys 😭 Looks like a crime movie snuck into the poll -Sam

Paul Cox

For what it's worth, the 1983 Bad Boys is a fairly good film from what I remember. Set in juvie, starring Sean Penn almost immediately after Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Shehab Dawoud

The 83 one is very good! It’s actually a better film than the Will Smith one, which I never loved. It could sway the voting once people find out!

John Fitzpatrick

I think Bad Boys is one of Sean Penn's best films. Proof that there was life after Jeff Spicoli.

Birdie Num Num

surprised Hard Boiled made the poll over The Killer.(which is Woo's most famous Hong Kong film)

ElmSt Reactions

I love water world but a few good ones on here

Daniel Gurney

This is like Am PM " Too much good stuff" Time cop is my favorite on here.

Dave Sees Movies

Please make "To Live and Die in LA" happen whether it wins or not. Nasty little movie

Matthew Maxon

Above the law is such a great 80s BS action movie. When people hadnt found out what a fraud Steven Segal is yet.

David Wilkins

PLEASE…. To Live and Die in LA.

Brad P

Assault on Precinct 13 has been on so many polls now that I demand an immediate reaction! 😉 😉 Plus its been a couple years since you've watched a John Carpenter film. For pure action though, nothing else on the list comes close to Hard Boiled.

Birdie Num Num

Eraser beating To Live and Die in LA is a headscratcher(though its still early). Perhaps some millennial nostalgia going on. To Live and Die has lost many polls, maybe you could use it for one of your non poll picks sometime.

Tyler Foster

Look, nothing against Eraser -- it's fun -- but if it beats To Live and Die in L.A., that's OUTRAGEOUS.

Tyler Foster

Paul...it's like you've become another person! Too over-the-top?

Birdie Num Num

hehe, you're usually so positive in your comments in the polls while I'm the grumpy one...

Tyler Foster

In this case I'm just surprised. Didn't realize a random run-of-the-mill Arnie like Eraser had a fandom. I would rather see Raw Deal or Terminator 3.

Birdie Num Num

Yeah this place never ceases to surprise. Pre reactor world I had no idea Troy was so popular. Or Young Guns. And now Eraser(like you say does anyone really think this is top tier Arnie?) Again, I'm guessing some voters here probably saw it at a sleepover as a kid. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Brandon Meng

eraser vastly underrated/underreacted to, you'll love it

Alex

Timecop and Hero are great. Jean-Cleade Van Damme and Jet Li. Water World is a great epic film, must watch if you haven't seen it. It's more of an adventure / epic story film rather than action just FYI, though it does have action components.

Alex

I've never heard of To Live and Die in LA. I've heard of Eraser.. Schwarzenegger.. Unbiased take, since I haven't seen Eraser and have no interest to. (not saying I wouldn't watch it if they post a reaction)

Alex

Steven Segall isn't a fraud. The martial arts haters today are the fraud. So much disrespect for traditional arts. Go watch Jesse Enkamp's videos on Steven Segall.

Alex

LMAO. That reminds me of in The 100 where Russell says "From what I've learned about Clarke, if she learns what I have done, she will burn this place to the ground."

Paul Cox

Ha I have a 90s post-Pulp Fiction Travolta problem, truth be told (I hate Swordfish too, but I never said anything about it since it was a spin wheel winner).

Paul Cox

I don't remember Eraser being big at the time of release, but it must have had a whole second life on HBO or rental that I know nothing about. I made a snide remark about it creeping into the lead last night, but deleted it. I'm suppressing my rage until it actually wins.

Chris Baldwin

What about the Arnold film "The Last Stand"? Has no one ever heard of it???? Great action and fun to watch if you love car chases. Just a thought. Bye all!!

Dave Carmichael

Well, you guys forced me to watch To Live or Die In LA. So boring, so slow, so dated, so predictable, so 1985 with minor actors (at the time) and bad fight choreography.

Tyler Foster

I honestly don't think I even believe you watched it. Fight choreography?

Florian Meier

Great List ... But i would add Clint Eastwoods "In The Line of Fire" and "Backdraft" and "Breakdown" (Both Kurt Russell) ... These 3 should be on every Action Poll ;)

Miles E Coburn

Probably because it's not a "fun" Action movie. It's a pretty dark (theme-wise) movie.

Tyler Foster

That might be more of a factor on another channel, but I guess I don't really think of TBR's audience as defaulting to "fun" when it's a choice between a generic (but fun) and largely-forgotten Schwarzenegger actioner, and a movie widely considered one of the greatest thrillers of the 1980s and another crown jewel in a legendary director's filmography. That said, one thing I didn't previously think about, they did very recently do a direct-to-video sequel to Eraser, so I guess that would be motivated by it being really popular on home video. Maybe it's a secret cult favorite or something.

Tyler Foster

No, like I said, I just don't believe you. "So boring, so slow." The movie is many things, but I find it hard to believe that "boring" and "slow" would be among the chief complaints. Don't care about "dated" but I would also say "predictable" is suspect, as this is a great example of "it's not what a movie is about, but how it chooses to be about that subject," and in that execution it is fairly uncommon -- there are familiar elements to it, but it goes about them in a unique way and features at least one moment that many people will cite as a particularly shocking, memorable moment among all '80s crime thrillers. And again, "fight choreography" just seems like a very weird thing to mention -- I just don't see how that would rate on a list of concerns about the movie. Someone who watched the movie probably would've mentioned something else, and if you mention it now, I'm just going to assume you looked it up. Anyway, weird thing to do, given I'm not even saying Eraser is bad! It's just like...are people clamoring for The 6th Day, too? I enjoyed that as well but if someone never saw it, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Miles E Coburn

You said it yourself - "...a movie widely considered one of the greatest thrillers of the 1980s..." Thriller, not Action. Which is what I would consider it - Suspense / Thriller rather than Action.

Flyin H

Eraser!!!

Wanted

Shehab Dawoud

To Live and Die in LA was behind by 1 and now it's up by 8! Did some people here create burner accounts or what? xD
