Sleepy Hollow (1999) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Paul Cox

If you guys haven't seen Edward Scissorhands, you can pencil it in for Christmas. It's not a "Christmas movie," per se, but part of it occurs at Christmas. Definitely consider Big Fish anytime.

Florian Meier

Love this Film, in Germany is already Evening, so perfect Time for Sleepy Hollow ;) Tim Burton makes the First two Batman, so you watched him before on the Channel, But Ed Wood and Edward Scissorhands are the next Top Films for you

OddThomas

My favourite Tim Burton film. Edward Scissorhands is good too. And Big Fish.

Birdie Num Num

hammer horror films were a big influence on this(to put it mildly)

Smooticus

woah, was this really the first time seeing this for you guys?

Backlog Andy M.

Never watched from start to finish. Only seen bits of it!

Birdie Num Num

crazy this handily beat The Others, Let the Right One In, Nosferatu, Frankenstein etc. I saw this in the theater in '99 and the audience and critical reaction was rather tepid at the time. Go figure.

Amper Sand

I love the other horror collaboration Tim Burton - Johnny Depp, Dark Shadows, great one :)

Amper Sand

You: "Saruman?!?" Me: "Count Dooku?!?" :)))

Kyle West

Since Helena Bonham Carter was mentioned in the reaction, this was Tim Burton before he met her. He was dating Lisa Marie at this time, the actress who played Ichabod's mother.

Kristin Carter

For more Johnny, gotta do Edward Scissorhands, and for my favorite Tim Burton movie, gotta do Big Fish

Steve Mercier

This movie is cheesy and stupid, and I kind of love it. Tim Burton's love song to Hammer Horror movies of the 60's and 70's, the plot of this one is mostly reduced to Johnny Depp acting terrified while everyone looks at him strange, followed by decapitations; but, it's still pretty damn fun. And Christina Ricci is always awesome. Also, I love the stupid little detail that the Headless Horseman decapitates the unborn baby. (Also also, the fact that CBS hasn't made a show with Ichabod Crane and Young Masbath solving crimes in turn-of-the-century New York called NCIS: Ichabod, or Criminal Minds: Crane's Justice, or CSI: Hammer Horror or some such shit is just amazing.)

David Wilkins

Fantastic! You two have been working like miners. ⛏️🎬

Chris Bruneau

this move is great! its is extremely well written, not TOO scary or TOO gross-- just the right amount of everything --a perfect Halloween classic!!!

Lee N.

I'm glad you both enjoyed this very cool, albeit loose adaptation of Washington Irving's classic tale.

Paul Cox

Big Fish would be my favorite if, and only if, Pee-wee's Big Adventure didn't exist (a 40 year history with that movie makes it hard to displace). But as an older person now, with aging parents, Big Fish shreds me to pieces.

You should check out What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) starring Depp and DiCaprio.

ZoeLo

Batman was a Tim Burton film.

Great reaction to a particularly good Halloween movie. I think it’s one of Burton’s best, so far as the world it creates. So many great cast members, all the way down to the minor roles. You might not have recognized Jeffrey Jones, being heavier and older, but he played the Emperor in Amadeus. I hope you do get around to Edward Scissorhands, as another fantastic trip with Tim Burton. Equally hoped for, though more “conventional” for Burton, is Ed Wood (1994). Another great story (based on truth), and another large and fantastic cast. Both of those are must-see for a real exploration of Burton’s work.

Me: Dracula. I'm old.

Michelle Hoffman

Some of my fav Depp movies. Finding Neverland. Ed Wood. What's eating Gilbert Grape. Edward Sissor Hands. Secret Window. Dark Shadows. Chocolat. Love them all.🤗

Paul Spacone

While this movie did have Dumbledore, it also had from StarWars - Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid portraying Dr Lancaster) Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) and Darth Maul (Ray Park as stunt double for Headless Horseman). Wonderful reaction guys😄🙏
