Mission: Impossible III (2006) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

James

Still one of my top 10 favorite action movies. A very good all around action movie.

Edgar Gonzalez

Who would have thought that Mission Impossible would have turned into series. Since the classic back in 1996, who would have thought that Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) would come back for 7 more movies! ♥️🔥💪👍👌

Steve Mercier

Maaaaaaaan...you drop this, Mississippi Burning, and Fallout all at 8pm on a Tuesday...? I got to work in the morning, goddamnit! Be watching these tomorrow...(*growl*)

Christopher Larimer

I'm in the same boat, I have time to watch one before bed, so I picked MI3.

Birdie Num Num

This was the lowest grossing film of the franchise, by far. In fact it was a borderline flop until it hit dvd. The factors were thought to be - 1) too much time had passed from Part II 2) as time went on negative reaction grew to part II, despite being a big hit and...3) Cruise's reputation was not great due to scientology interview with the Today show and of course the couch jumping. Everyone thought he was a complete loon and he even tried to block the South Park ep making fun of him. Ghost Protocol not only saved the franchise, but kinda saved Cruise's career and image (and this was where him doing crazier and crazier stunts sort of became his MO).

Michael Bauer

Yes, I'm from Germany, and I've been on pins and needles all day waiting for MI3. F5 F5 F5 F5 😁 And at 2 a.m., Mississippi Burning came on, so I knew there was more to come. No going to bed for me. And here I am after 5 a.m., and the wait was worth it, as always! Great reaction, as always. Can't wait for the rest of the series. So, 5 a.m., what the heck, let's just start Mississippi Burning. 🤪🤘

Simon Pegg has told a story several times about how, on the heels of the success of Shaun of the Dead, he was asked by the British press if he would be turning his back on his homeland and going Hollywood. He sarcastically replied, "Look, it's not like I'm about to jet off to America and show up in Mission: Impossible 3." By coincidence, shortly thereafter, Abrams contacted Pegg with the offer to be in Mission: Impossible III. This is a reunion for Tom Cruise and Philip Seymour Hoffman, who met on Paul Thomas Anderson's magnolia (1999). I am sure many people have suggested magnolia to you over the years whenever you watch PTA's movies, and it's certainly in my top 10 or 15 most-wanted movies on the channel (although 2014's Inherent Vice is my favorite PTA). Would be great to see it on the channel sometime this year. Also, it's a reunion for Billy Crudup and Hoffman, who were both in Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous. You've seen the first of Cruise's two collaborations with Crowe, Jerry Maguire, but they reunited for Vanilla Sky (2001), which I honestly love even more, and which I think makes for an interesting counterpart -- VS is kind of like a warped, funhouse mirror version of JM. Can't wait for Ghost Protocol. My favorite of the franchise is Rogue Nation but I'll settle for the excitement of the last three for the first time (which I enjoyed, warts and all), and who knows, maybe RN will play so fresh (just with the newfound appreciation for the journey to get there) that it won't even matter.

The White rabbit LOL

Samuel Bruce

This is where we really start to get amazing action movies!

Jason Dolan

Now go watch the Pilot for ALIAS - Tom Cruise clearly loved it and said make that the next Mission Impossible movie haha

Hans Engelen

"that doesn't seem out of character for this guy" ... Hell have you seen that dress Maggie was wearing.

Popcorn & Petty

I can't wait for you guys to see the rest of the movies. Benji was such a great addition. He has a much bigger role throughout all the movies. I love all the MI movies. I used to watch the series as a kid on TV and then when Tom Cruise brought it to the big screen, I was instantly a fan.

OddThomas

3-6 are chef's kiss

Robert Durant

It’s weird that this wasn’t a big hit for its day considering this is the movie that pretty much reinvented the franchise for the better.

Gary

Oh I hope this is better than part 2,i turned that off after 25 minutes as its so bad compared to the later films. Will you be rewtching the films you mentioned you already scene in this franchise?

Future Boy

I hadn't seen part 3 for around 15 years, but it's still very embarrassing when you fall for the same twist all over again. Damn those masks! The reactions to this series continue to be great fun. Ghost Protocol is the last one I've seen, so then I'll be in new territory!

Future Boy

Magnolia is also in my top 10 most anticipated reactions on the channel. I haven't rewatched it in years, and I'm saving it for this channel!

Tyler Foster

What's the rest of your lineup? I gotta find the one I wrote down somewhere...

Tyler Foster

I found my note and it was a little out-of-date, as Sam and Dan have crossed one or two off since I wrote it, probably over a year ago. My current top 10 and then 10 honorable mentions. Note: magnolia and some other great movies ended up in honorable mentions simply because I leaned toward putting my favorites that I think have less of a chance -- Do the Right Thing, for example, seems inevitable eventually, so even though it's a "top 10" kind of title, it went in the HM section instead. • Bound [Unrated] (1996) • Brazil [Director's Cut] (1985) • Hudsucker Proxy, The (1994) • Hustler, The (1961) • Inherent Vice (2014) • Manchurian Candidate, The (1962) • Memories of Murder (2003) • Metropolis (1927) • Taking of Pelham One Two Three, The (1974) • What's Up, Doc? (1972) Desperately Seeking Susan (1985) Do the Right Thing (1989) In Bruges (2008) Last Detail, The (1973) magnolia (1999) Malcolm X (1992) PlayTime (1967) Steve Jobs (2015) Stranger Than Fiction (2006) Tampopo (1985)

Tyler Foster

Pinning down the exact moment where the franchise was reinvented is tricky. With Abrams and Bad Robot producing the rest of the series, there are reasons to start with this one, but I would also still say (keeping this vague given they haven't watched the next one yet) that between III and Ghost Protocol, the series maintains its "different vibe/approach" pattern. There is a strong argument to be made that 5-8 are modeled more on Ghost Protocol than III.

Robert Durant

Ok so I still haven't seen the last two movies; Dead Reckoning and Final Reckoning so I can't rank those yet but from what i have seen my ranking is....6, 4, 5, 3, 1, 2. Ghost Protocol is up next and its definitely my favorite out of the first four movies. This is where the stakes get raised with each movie, I won't spoil the cast for Ghost Protocol but let's just say you will not be disappointed.

Tyler Foster

5 > 1 > 6 > 4 > 7 > 2 > 8 > 3. However, to be clear, I like all of them!

Tyler Foster

There is only one in the series that they have both seen (5, Rogue Nation) and they say in this video they will be watching that one as well, because Sam doesn't remember it. (There is even maybe the tiniest chance she hasn't seen it, as she only remembers one thing about it.)

EdmanXERO

Tom Cruise ran his ass off in this one, didn't he? 🤣 Keri Russell has been one of my celebrity crushes since the 90s, and her performance as Lindsey in this was so tragic, yet badass. I wish she could've stuck around for more movies, but we needed a fair motive for Ethan. That death still haunts me. I can't wait for Ghost Protocol next. That's actually the FIRST Mission: Impossible movie I've ever saw. Haha. RIP, Philip Seymour Hoffman. I hated him in this movie, which makes a perfect villain.

EdmanXERO

She's a Maggie Q-tie. lololol

TBR Schmitt

LOL Daniel was on an editing roll on Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed the reactions! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Oh no way!! I hadn't even put together the couch jumping situation in the timeline of when these came out! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Simon Pegg was such a great add to the franchise in this one! What a funny story haha Magnolia has definitely been recommended a ton! So excited for you to be along with us through this franchise! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Love this! Excited for more Benji! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Oh no! Sorry you didn't enjoy Part 2! Yes, we'll be watching them all for the channel :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

The masks will get us every time haha thank you! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Ooh this makes me so much more excited for the remaining films! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Tom Cruise is such a beast haha the way he runs is literally not human! I wish we had gotten more Lindsey as well, but she sure made an impact! I love that everyone jumped into this series at different times! PSH was the perfect villain! -Sam

Gary

OK great you're watching them all ,I just couldn't get into part 2 when I watched it on my own,not anything to do with your reaction 😁. Rogue nation really is when this franchise really starts to hit it's peak.
