I've only ever seen Idiocracy once yeeeeeeears ago, but there are so many scenes i can still remember. That'll be fun to revisit. I grew up with the movie, Bowfinger, in our house, but I never ended up watching it, so this'll be a first watch for me too! 😁

I mean, Eddie Murphy was pretty much at his peak in the 90's, so I know he'll be great. But imagine my surprise (I actually had to look it up to confirm), but Bowfinger will also be my first Steve Martin film! 😮

Bowfinger is too-little recognized, and excellent in a number of ways. The dual role by Eddie Murphy is my favorite of his.

I wish I liked Idiocracy more. The movie was surrounded by rumors of a troubled production after it was shot in 2004 but didn't get tested anywhere until 2005, where it apparently received negative test scores. They did reshoots and finally got some positive results, but when it came time to release the movie, Fox dragged its feet, barely dumping it in 2006, releasing it in only seven cities -- the movie doesn't even have a theatrical trailer, I believe, because promotion of the film was so non-existent that nobody ever made one that was deemed good enough to be released. I think most people probably think of it as a film that was released direct to DVD. Ultimately, I recall when I saw the movie, I thought the seams of this troubled post-production process were pretty evident in the amount of voice-over needed to stitch the story together. That said, I did find the jokes at least somewhat funny, so maybe I'm being too hard. Still, can't wait to see Bowfinger.

Not related to this post, but a couple of days ago all comments on all posts reverted to oldest first, requiring a lot of scrolling to read new comments. I don’t see a global setting that controls this function. Have I missed it? Or is anyone else having the same issue?

That sounds like a glitch, but I'm not happy that the default view now seems to be "top" instead of "newest."

Thanks for responding. I don’t even see a place for selecting those options, either globally or individual posts. The only thing I see are selections for blocking or reporting. But it is hopefully a glitch that will pass. There have been some in the past that didn’t seem to be experienced by others here. My biggest hope was that there was a method of selecting that I hadn’t seen. I’ve searched every logical corner.
