Wow you guys watched Network not that long ago, and then this, prophetic. One thing I don't know about, you assumed the whole world was like this by then, but what if it's like 28 Days Later and it's actually just the US and the rest of the world is doing Star Trek and it's just the US is ruled my Brawndo and Carls Jr. 😆 Also I love the Austin, Texas connection, Mike Judge I think used to work at a tech company like Office Space, in Austin; then the Wilson brothers, Owen Wilson went to school with Wes Anderson, University of Texas, Austin, and the soldier who tells Joe about his new assignment played Bob in "Bottle Rocket", Wes Anderson's first movie, which had all three Wilson brothers, Owen, Luke, and Andrew (Beef Supreme).

I just heard Terry Crews in an interview say of all the characters he's played he thinks Camacho should have his own spin off, imagine that.

I didn't know you reacted to hard hitting documentaries...

I love this movie. Mike Judge is such a talented guy. Please consider watching his other films Extract (With Jason Bateman), Beavis And Butthead Do America and Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe. His HBO series Silicon Valley is also top tier.

One movie I've recommended before that, like this, is a cult comedy that was not successful on release but which has found its audience later, is Josie and the Pussycats (2001). It's even celebrating an anniversary this year as well, having hit its 25th anniversary back in April. According to one of the directors, Bono of U2 gushed about the movie to her, saying "this is exactly what the music industry is like." Although both have a strong element of "truth in comedy," the main reason I connect it to this is its ongoing satirizing of advertising. Should Josie and the Pussycats ever manage to make it to the channel, the one thing you should go in knowing is that there is no paid product placement in the film, which might sound crazy at first but will make sense eventually. Although Wes is more associated with Owen than Luke, given how much you two love Wes Anderson, you should check out Anderson's debut film, Bottle Rocket, which stars both Owen (who also co-wrote, just like with The Royal Tenenbaums) and Luke together, as well as the third Wilson brother Andrew. I would also agree that the film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America (1996) -- now we're back to a 30th anniversary! -- is very funny and can be watched without any familiarity with the show...although that may have to wait given it's a Paramount film (MTV owns Paramount, and B&B is MTV). I also heard good things about the much more recent sequel, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe (2022), although I haven't seen it.
