Chris Bruneau

Warning, I've heard the Substance is very gory!!!

Will Knox

While I loved The Substance, I always really enjoy when you guys react to a comedy lol so, my vote goes to Robin Hood: Men in Tights 🤣

jjkcharlie

We're men, men in tights...

Renee S

I was headed toward Men in Tights (high-larious) then I saw the Substance, and yes, it's time to hit that one :) You have to. Men in Tights will be a good palate cleanser after the Substance, lol

Paul Cox

Probably a minority opinion, but the quality dropoff in Mel Brooks films after Young Frankenstein is drastic, Men in Tights among the least funny. Substance or Three Kings, por favor!

Jen Barnes

The Italian Job, because I gotta support Jason Statham in anything he does. 😍

Jax

The devil on my shoulder is saying The Substance.....I care too much for Sam, Men in Tights it is lol

Tyler Foster

Praying for Three Kings but not holding my breath.

Florian Meier

From this 4 it is the Substance for me ;)

Brandon

I know it's early days, but enjoy The Substance. It's one wild ride. 😅

Richard Maurer

Actually agree 100% about Mel Brooks. And I ‘ll go further by saying Spaceballs only has a couple of jokes that are really funny.

Matt

Man I hated the Substance 🤣

Jim Barnes

Substance is going to be a tough YouTube edit, haha

OddThomas

Three Kings is weirdly forgotten but it's amazing

Birdie Num Num

is it a minority opinion? the critical drop-off after Young Frankenstein was huge. I know Gen Z loves Spaceballs but the difference in critical acclaim between that and Blazing Saddles/Young Frankenstein was like the difference in critical acclaim for say Raiders/ET and Hook. Blazing/Young got multiple Oscar noms! Look at Ebert's reviews over the years, he was an early champion of Brooks and said he was sad to see such a decline for Brooks in the 80s/90s(and Brooks tore into him when he saw him in person after that - sounds like a sensitive dude). box office was pretty much middling to average for every Brooks film after '74(VHS offset theatrical for many films for studios in 80s/90s). The box office for Brooks in '74 was staggering, those 2 films made a combined 1 billion adjusted for inflation! Not sure any director in history had 2 films reach that level of success in the same year since.

Paul Cox

In the reactorsphere it is. People love Spaceballs and Men in Tights, but even when I was young I was like "I wish this was funnier."

Indy Traveler

I haven't seen any of these movies, so I'll just say Knightriders 😅

Bill Woods

The Italian Job, but start with the original 1969 movie, starring Michael Caine.

Backlog Andy M.

Wrong italian job. (1969) one is a classic!

Nicotti

You see Mel announced Spaceballs: The Next One coming to theatres in 2027?

Paul Cox

Yep. Happy it brought Moranis out of retirement, but I have no plans to ever watch it.

Richard Maurer

The quality decline really started at History of the World Part I , which came out in 81. Another comedy, Airplane! came out in 1980 and was a massive hit. Brooks changed his style to try to copy Airplane’s style of comedy. Whether it was his Idea or the studio’s, this change never really worked for him.

Duncan

Poor Daniel about to go 0/3 on the ''Our picks'' polls. He is going to need to change his strategy and bring out his big gun selections next month

TBR Schmitt

😈 muahaha! He told me what he’s picking next time, and I definitely think this will be the end of my winning streak 😂 -Sam

Duncan

😂 Will look forward to seeing what is on the poll next month then. Don't give up just yet ,start thinking about what movies you can beat him with.

Shehab Dawoud

Well, this certainly won’t be as tight as the last poll!

johnsamseecass

Dan and Sam should watch Revenge 2017 after the substance, it's the same director's first movie and it's very good!

Max Rinaldi

"The Substance" in majority. I knew the sadists would have raided this poll.

Smooticus

I love how we go from 734 choices on one poll, then 4 the next lol

Birdie Num Num

Wish they'd carry over the losers from other Our Picks Polls - Send Help, Bugonia, Once Upon a Time in the West

penoyer79

Three Kings is great, but since Dan has already seen it - The Substance is a no brainer here.

penoyer79

Space Balls was the only Mel Brooks movie I've enjoyed *shrug*. I tried a few times with Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles, but it just wasn't for me? Maybe I just needed to be born in 1959 instead of 1979 to really "get it". Men in Tights is egregiously overrated.

Future Boy

If Sam picks A Simple Plan and In the Line of Fire, Daniel will be defeated!

Duncan

A Simple Plan (1998)💚
