The Replacements (2000) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Paul Cox

Another football film that went unmentioned: The Longest Yard (1974, with Burt!)

Florian Meier

Second !!! A Classic Burt Reynolds!!

johnsamseecass

Rudy, haven't bit the bullet on it but one I want to watch.

thomas king

The Longest Yard 1974. The remake with Adam Sandler is fun but not as good; Rudy, Varsity Blues, Invincible, Brian's Song, The Program, North Dallas Forty, All the Right Moves, We Are Marshall, Necessary Roughness, Everybody's All American, The Game Plan, The Grid Iron Gang

Keith Brown

This was another movie that tried to get that "Major League" (1989) feel. The lovable losers band together to beat the system. Director Howard Deutch is married to Lea Thompson(Back to the Future) and one of their daughters is actress Zoey Deutch .

Keith Brown

The movie is loosely based on the 1987 football strike where the Washington Redskins replacement players won their games keeping the Redskins alive in the standings so when the pro players returned to finish the season and go into the playoffs the Redskins went on to win Super Bowl XVII . The stadium the team used to film was in real life the Baltimore Ravens then new stadium.

Michael Bauer

I hope that at some point in the future you’ll come back to football and we’ll have a chance for "Any Given Sunday." Or mayby in some other Poll. Anyway, that was a fun reaction. 👍❤️

Florian Meier

Another great reaction guys !!! As a big Gene Hackman Fan this was a great Time for me watching this again !! For more Gene Hackman and Sport films i recommend "Hoosiers" from 1986 !!! A Classic !!! More Gene Hackman: "Get Shorty", "Enemy of the State", "Superman", "No Way Out", "French Connection 2", "Night Moves", "Downhill Racer", "The Birdcage", "Absolute Power", "Runaway Jury" ... More Sports films i would say "Slap Shot" and "The Longest Yard"

Jen Barnes

My football recommendations: Invincible, Necessary Roughness, We are Marshall, Brian's Song, and Rudy. Also, a Remember the Titans rewatch would be great too!

James Miley

Another classic Gene Hackman sports film is Hoosiers (1986), only instead of football, it's basketball. Another great football film is Rudy (1993) with Sean Astin.

Steve Mercier

Not a bad little movie for all the cliche tropes that are stock-piled in here. The late great Gene Hackman always makes things better; and Keanu Reeves gives one of his best non-action performances here, so that helps, too.

Donna Castellano

I reeeeeeeeeally hope y'all do Any Given Sunday. It's easily my favorite Oliver Stone movie. So damn good.

Jason Pratt

Glad y’all liked it. The bar scene with the voice over was great

Duncan

It is an actual sin that neither of you have seen ''Rudy (1993)'' Sean Astin,Jon Favreau Specially for Daniel ,since he is a Lord of the Rings guy, it is a must watch on the channel this football season. p.s SPOILER ALERT for this NFL season ,the Detroit Lions are taking that Superbowl 🏈🏆

Matt

RIP Tim Curry 🙏

Tony Rogers

A really fun and underrated football movie is Wildcats. It's from the 80s and has Goldie Hawn. And, it has Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, both at the beginning of their movie careers.

Stephanie

Yes to No Way Out and Runaway Jury.
