Obsession (2026) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Santiago Hardy

Such a great tragic movie. In the first act, I had the highest hopes for Bear. By the end up the movie he was such a pathetic disappointment. Ruining both Nikki and his lives. WTAF dude. Sigh....

I don’t remember the last time an unknown actor just catapulted into stardom because of one movie the way it has happened to Inde Navarrette. She’s definitely got an Oscar nomination on lock and she will now be in X-Men. This was inspired by a Simpsons Halloween episode, which was based on the short story ‘The Monkey’s Paw’, about a magical monkey paw that grants you 3 wishes but brings misfortune with each wish.

Great movie, looking forward to your reaction

Yall about to make me leave work early

Would've rather she done Heat 2. She met with Mann, but guess he decided she wasn't a good fit.

I don't know if this is my favorite new release this year (I can't rule it out), but it's certainly the one I've thought about the most since watching it.

Steve Mercier

Watched this movie so many times on reaction channels, I've kind of run out of things to say, so...I'M HERE TO WATCH YOU SQUIRM!!! HAhaHA!HAhah!HAhahaHA! Welcome to October.

I think she denied having been offered it. But she's probably too young to play any of the females in that adaption either.

Yep, this movie was definitely the "what the fuck" movie of this year for me. 🤣 I'm not even a fan of horror movies, but some exceptions are made, like "Sinners" for last year. Haha. But damn, this movie was incredible, tragic, disturbing AND frustrating all rolled into one. Inde Navarrette did amazing, for sure, but Michael Johnston was just fantastic as Bear. Never have I hated a character more in a film since "Mommie Dearest". lmao The entire cast was amazing, and I hope they all have great careers in the future. But HOLY FUCK Sarah got it the worst. I'm never touching a brick ever again. XD Thank you both for finally reacting to this one! I can't wait to see Inde in the MCU!

Bear's actor Michael Johnston came up with the idea at the last minute during shooting to have Bear attempt to puke out the pills before Freaky Nikki made the wish

I know a movie with maybe a more tragic character but I won’t say;cause I don’t think you guys have seen it.

This movie is such a great new horror movie for so many reasons. Locked-In Syndrome is probably my ultimate phobia, that alone. Nikki snapping back from wherever she is trapped is so perfect. To me that's why I would class this as maybe, Lovecraftian, maybe I use that term too much but I like to use it as just an umbrella term for stories that evokes or foreshadows a larger universe of spooky potentially terrifying entities or spaces... That's funny you guys mentioned that that billion dollars was not without something horrible, I thought of a cartel finding out someone is spending their money, Ian should have specified "untraceable" billion dollars, people were definitely coming for that money, the worst people 😆

Nikki did not receive medical care after the bottle because she didn't go in and hospital staff can't force her.

In reference to your review at the end, the real Nikki was actually present for everything including the sexual assault. In an interview, Inde Navarette said if you look closely, Nikki is crying during that scene.

That's even worse! This movie is beyond tragic. Now she has to face the consequences of this coward's actions. His obsession with her caused all of this. He had so many opportunities to tell her how he felt about her before he made that wish. What's even worse is that when he KNEW that it was the wish and wasn't really Nikki, he continued to hold her hostage. He waited until after someone was killed to go to the shop, when that's the first place he should have gone when he realized it was the wish. When he called customer service, he didn't even want to cancel it at first he wanted to alter it so she wouldn't act weird. How crazy is that? In the beginning, you think Bear is this nice, shy guy but by the end you see how much of a despicable human being he really is.

Hoping for Backrooms next/in October for spooky month.

Walter White

Bear is the real villain of this movie

Jason Dolan

Good luck with YouTube 🫡

This is absolutely my favorite film of 2026! Can't wait to see both of your reactions to this

Jason Chirevas

Sam’s reaction to The Broken Bottle Moment is maybe my favorite reaction channel moment of all-time. This watch-along was the fifth time I’ve watched OBSESSION and, yeah, the men in this movie….

Roy Wright

This is the 6th time I have watched this and I see new things every time. I took so many people to the theater to see this. Great reaction as always. I think if you nerd out over how movies are made this is a great watch. I still firmly believe that Bear never really loved Nikki until she made that wish at the end. Anyway love the reaction.

Gayle ED

This and Project Hail Mary are my favourite films this year, despite being polar opposites (super dark and depressing and low budget compared to PHM's bigger budget and feel-good). Yet both deserve awards!

I just rewatched this and last time I watched I didn't have time to stay on and watch the after comments and review. I agree with everything you guys said about the film, especially the acting! When my friend and I saw this in theaters back in June, I called it that Inde Navarrette would absolutely win an Oscar for her performance. Just what Daniel said, she totally blew me away. Her performance was almost otherworldly...she was just phenomenal. Everyone in the movie was at the top of their game. I also agree about the cinematography and the lighting, so incredible. I'm really looking forward to Award season. Love your guys' reaction, as always! 💯
