This is the movie Clint starred in after he won the Oscars for "Unforgiven". I think this has my favorite of Clint's acting performances in his long career.

Clint was a very attractive 62 in this movie. Rene Russo was the movie girlfriend of the 90s, I highly recommend Get Shorty for more Rene.

Thank you for reacting to "In the Line of Fire". I really like the writing of the story/dialogue and the performances of all the principal cast. Even the two thorns in Frank Horrigan's side, played by actors Gary Cole and former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson, provided us with the frustration that Frank felt. Regarding why an actor like John Malkovich isn't as big as a movie star as Clint is for a number of reasons. Maybe it's the projects he chooses (or is offered). Some actors like Laura Linney and Malkovich are known for their stage craft, so moviegoers may not be as familiar with that work. You can see some crossover with many Tony Award winners and nominees appearing in TV shows like HBO's "The Gilded Age".

Glad you both loved it like Me ;) i agree with you Sam (Clint and Malkovich are the perfect Duo!!!) And Malkovich is the perfect Villian !!! He Lost to Tommy Lee Jones at the Oscars, but this was such an Outstanding Perfomance !!! This is one of my all time fav Action Thriller and One of Clints Best Perfomances as an Actor !!! Loved it

Another political thriller with Clint Eastwood is Absolute Power, co-staring Gene Hackman. Fred Thompson, the guy who played the White House Chief of Staff, in addition to being great actor appearing in numerous film and TV series was also an attorney and a Senator for Tennessee. Also, while the Secret Service is most famously known for being the security for the president, they also investigate financial crimes and cyber crime. Identity theft, forgery, counterfeiting, bank fraud all fall under rhe perview of the Secret Service.

“Uhhhhh…. I have to put all that shit back on.” 😶 A favorite since it was released. Not only is it great because of Malkovich, but it’s also a slightly different flavor of Eastwood. As others have said, another great example of Rene Russo is Get Shorty (1995). The cast for that one is also stacked, top to bottom.

I consider this movie a personal favorite of mine for the last 25 years or so, and it was my choice in the poll as well so I couldn't wait to watch it. I loved the character of Al, and someone told me once something that I never really thought of until recently....the character of Al may be a subconscious allegory to JFK. Think about it...kind of looks like JFK or JFK Jr, good looking, young, wife and kids. Frank feels the same loss as he did for JFK. Something interesting to think about. Two actors were considered for the role of Al. One was Bill Pullman and the other was William Baldwin of Backdraft fame. I could have seen them both in this role (especially William Baldwin) but Dylan McDermott was great. Really really great reaction! One of the best reactions I have seen you guys do this year, I can tell you guys really liked it. (I think I will rank my fav reactions you did at the end of this year, and this one will be on that list for sure). Mike
