Yay finally Arno is gone 🦀🦀

Alexekokota

I think it is funny they didn't address the ending of episode 1 at all on this one

Alexekokota

The AI opening has been fixed, Crunchyroll had issues with their file some people saw the fixed one, you didn't see the fixed one

i saw a post on Reddit comparing them, sadly I think the og looked cooler lmao. but this is why it's important to skip OP and EDs never know when it's AI 🗿

yeah I assume whenever they circle back to buddy who dragged her (when we have a proper one on one convo) we will see what happened

Remember the phrase "Stairway to Distance Skies" = Dead from the aftercredit scene. That's all I can say for now on that. About Arno: There is a lot skipped for obvious reasons. Ferdinand had him killed because his true personality was a liability. At the end of each light novel, it shifts to another characters' POVs, one of which was Arno's. Arno hated Fran since childhood when both were in the orphanage under the former Orphanage Director, Sister Margaret, who held "activities" for good looking boys. Fran was her favorite, fed him, yet left him scarred. Arno became internally spiteful because he wanted Fran's position. As a reminder, food is served to nobles first and leftovers go in order of status, so orphans were left with scraps, if any even were left. Arno is actually the one who recommended Fran to be Myne's attendant to Ferdinand, who didn't know about Margaret's treatment. Back in Season 1, remember that Fran believed Ferdinand has thrown him away to Myne. Arno secretly was reveling at Fran's suffering in believing he was damaged goods. Once Myne became Rozemyne, Ferdinand knew Arno's feeling towards Fran's, now higher, worth would risk his plans for Rozemyne and had him killed.

Plus the fact when Myne was attacked Arno lied and said Ferdinand was not there. When he actually was in his hidden room. That failure from him almost cost them Myne. So his punishment for that was death

Things they cut from this episode was the aftermath of Wilfred being with Rosemyne that collapsed. That whole thing was a set up to show him just how fragile she is. The second thing was when that blue priest did speak up saying Rosemyne was a commoner. She basically said “There is new management here so you better watch your tongue” as a subtle threat to him. That he no longer can mistreat her as she remembers him as the one who messed up the book room. I loved that scene in the book so sad to see it cut😢 And thirdly the letter from her family was a bit messy. As they were trying to write as much on it as they could. Which almost made the letter unreadable further down. That was a sweet moment, and made Rosemyne gave them more paper in the future. So that they would not have to be worried about running out of it

I think that by skipping the consequences of being dragged, it hurt Wilhelm's understanding of how weak his sister was, but also her adopted brother's understanding of that as well.

Regarding the letter there is the fact that they are not used to writing much, and the writing tools they are using are relatively new. It might even be the first time the familiy is writing using ink and paper, after all, paper is a relatively expensive product, not something people would use for everyday notes as we do in our world.

I love the world building in the series. Let's do some child labor, not because we are evil, but because it is the better alternative. Most series don't go deep in the building of their societies and how their circunstances would shape them.

Didrik Svahn

Yeah that is also probably why they tried to squeeze so much text on a single page of paper. Because of how valuable it’s for commoners still

Didrik Svahn

Yeah I know that is what I love about this story. And the crazy part is that we still are in the set up phase of the story.

I like how they pretend it never happened.

I always enjoy a myne story no matter the complaints that think it to slow paced

The letter thing got across to me, perhaps it was more distinctly “crammed and unreadable/messy” with how it was described in source material but it already got that idea across to me in anime tbh 🤷‍♀️

Kaikasshu

I binged the whole first season last night. I will be reaching this season at some point

This show is kind of like a Romance story but not in the marriage kind of meaning. The raw passion for books and family and the like. I love that.
