For some context: The first few chapters of the manga were memed harder than anything that Weekly Shounen Jump has produced in at least a decade. For reference some values from Mangaplus (where you can read Weekly Shounen Jump legally and technically for free) Chainsaw Man's first chapter has 990 comments on its first chapter. Dandadan's first chapter - which is basically that crazy first episode - only has 856 comments. Ichi the Witch - which is currently really strong in the magazine and is being done by a duo of the mangaka of Iruma-Kun as the writer and the artist from Act-Age as the main artist - has 615 comments. Kill Blue - currently airing - has 268 comments. Akane-banashi, also currently airing, has 319 comments. Meanwhile, Kagurabachi has 2.484 comments on it's first chapter. Has comments like "The new age manga, the rising star, the shonen slayer, the eternal king, this for sure gonna sell Bachillion copies", "I just Kagura Bachi'd all over my screen" and "this guy solos goku!!! (im at page 18)". This excessive meme-ing actually ended up being a godsend for the series, because it kept people around for long enough in order to get them invested. You should probably expect this to have a similar impact and viewership as Chainsaw Man had.

I think the sword stuff is real here.

And you haven’t heard about how the manga was memed into success. I suspect John Titor.
