This adaptation frustrates me. I meant it when I said I was glad someone else would watch it for me. Without rehashing my original complaint, my disappointment stemmed not from the direction of season 1 choosing to contrive a setting or add unnecessary elements absent in the source, it was that they took it one step further and made it uncomfortable for seemingly no reason. We're in season 2, and thankfully all that stuff seems gone, but wth... I'll accept this outcome because I suppose the alternative would have been to double down on those elements for continuity, making the plot deviate more and probably put many more people off. I like where the plot is now, and I'll bite the bullet on the visuals if they at least continue handling the plot in a sane manner. But yes, S1 artwork was way better. I wonder now if meddling author also took issue with the plot as well or if it was strictly art. Because damn, if it was just the art, wtf was he thinking. Seriously, I've had more fun watching objectively worse shows. This show frustrates me because it could be so much better and missed the mark for no reason. Insert stick in bike spokes meme.

I think what's fucking with the artstyle more than anything is the really weird shadow on the noses its too big and shows at all angles, it doesn't look remotely normal, even for anime when the elf's face is sideways at 6:23 it actually looks really good without the shadow

I agree with you at around 8:20. This episode is not as bad as the previous one. Livia and Angie look a bit more differentiated, and the faces are not as generic. I love how the queen could just say "I'm not interested". Instead, she tries to find excuses, as if to convince herself that, deep down, she doesn't really want to be courted.
