I do want to see the old man fight, I hope we get the see the boar fight next week aswell, pray. I love the chill pace of this anime, I can watch 10 seasons of this back to back.

As someone who read the LNs, I really like the return home arc. It's a little quieter than some of the other arcs, but really important to the characters as we see with Mewi just being accepted so directly. The animation team continues to show real respect for the way the story puts emphasis on the small details like foot work as well as teaching. We even see the former hot blooded (check S1 intro) vice commander take a teaching approach to the problem students. Overall it's just such a chill and generally wholesome show. I can sort of see the point some people had with the initial setup of the potential harem getting nearly totally sidelined. I'd have loved to see a little less of that, especially if it's not a factor. One thing the anime skipped is that in the LN Beryl is warned that having caught the kings attention he might be ordered to continue the family line if he doesn't get a move on it himself. Although so far the the LNs it's just been left hanging without follow up, so I can see why it wasn't prioritized.

I love the show... And I like it for the slower episodes where we can see the characters shine. I don't need excessive action for it to be good... This is right up my alley... A slow burn that progresses the stoey and Beryl as a character bit by bit while giving us some great action in the swordplay and fantastic art and animation... I don't expect we'll get a full adaptation considering the LNs are I think on hiatus but hopefully we'll get another season sooner or later because this show is a treat to watch weekly.

I've been watching it dub on Amazon and I don't think it's ai. The voices are pretty good and actually suit the characters, tho if you have subtitles turned on they are just the Japanese subs, most of what's said is the same but some spoken words are different

i looked into and it seems to be AI or has a lot of AI used in it. almost all of amazons anime dubs do this anymore to varrying degrees I just dont know how much of it is on this one

Any episode with cute Mewi moments is a good episode. I love how the grandpa is like "Want to try me?". I was sure the vice commander would accept the challenge, if anything, out of curiosity. Maybe nobody will fight him and they will simply just witness his combat prowess against the saberboars?
