Episode 1 was really good. I wonder if Cheng Xiaoshi actually just forgot about Lu Guang or if there's something up with it, the fact that he stopped showing up right after discovering how to use his powers is really suspicious to me. I'm actually not sure why they dropped episode 2 as well, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that they had a theatrical premiere of season 3 last week. Episode 2 is mainly buildup so not much to say until more of the bigger picture is revealed. But being in the middle of nowhere being held by a suspicious organization does make "keep Felix safe" kinda hard considering he only gets 12 hours to do things. On another note, I wonder if this is Felix's first rodeo with this sort of thing, he is broke after all.

ya the whole episode 1 things seems like something in the past got messed with and over the season we will learn what it is

I agree the first two episodes weren't quite connected to warrant the two-parter premiere. I see no other explanation that the staff really really wanted to show off the new cliffha- I mean, ending theme, which is admittedly really fire! With the way it references previous openings/endings - in a similar way Attack on Titan S3 second half opening did - it really feels like we're entering some kind of the endgame here!

I think they did the two episodes because after the bridon arc was all backstory, they probably wanted to show forward momentum in the current timeline since it's been awhile since season 2 happened. Episode one was my favourite personally, but connecting the season 2 and bridon arc characters seems like it could be interesting.
