This episode was indeed fun. Also I saw it coming where Merlin would just leave her room easily open with just a key, she's a magic master so naturally she would have magic seal on top of the regular key, as well as for the Grimoire. One thing I also like is that sometime breaking the specific curse like in this case can be so simple if you know the method, and like you said the chances of you bathing in that fruit is pretty much zero percent. Especially if you're not in the area where that fruit grows, in this case they farm them probably because the curse breaking method was discovered. I'm actually surprised Merlin didn't know that herself that they grow some in the garden.
