I watch the old series alongside this one to compare them. This honors the OG anime and adds to it or alters it in a way where I am not sure they want to tell the same adventure. You just watched the first half of OG episode 1. I am quite liking the changes in that I can't say either is the best; just that I like each ones approach.

Keep your initial sentiment "Lady who lives in a flower, kidnaps three teenage girls to become legendary warriors to kill in order to protect a world" it sums up this series perfectly classic OG Iskeai for a reason :) Also is not 12 years old but 22 years (the old anime that is) :)

What if they are there long enough for her eyes to need new lens...? Hell they break magic repairs and restores item... but no eye exam; no corrective appliance to the lens that needs new engineering.

I think it will follow more the manga 1:1 than the old one.. the old one part 1 added another character and took some small freedoms.. part 2 was changed completely due to the manga not being finished (a classical choice of the old anime)

Bro the hero's summons is just interdimensional kidnapping that isekai worlds do to get children soldiers that's all summoned isekai is when you think about it By the way do you know how fuck the world of magical knight Rayearth would be if they summoned Myu freedom Arifureta Hajime would literally destroy the whole isekai world because they interdimensional kidnapped his daughter without his permission

Cross between Sailor Moon and CLAMP, you say? Hmmm… Should we tell him?

In east Asia, blood types are seen as indicators of personality, like horoscopes.

Gareth Green

I merely describe the phenomenon.

The manga ran from 93-96, the original series was 49 episode between 94-95 (with 3 OVAs), and now this one celebrating the 30th anniversary of the show.

Rayearth is kinda what made Clamp popular.

You commenting on the lack of feminine hygiene realism in isekai anime had me cracking up 😂 Fair point, just wasn’t expecting it.. maybe someone will grant your wish someday who knows! lol The animation reminds me of Sailor Moon but even the characters I swear are almost counterparts for Sailor Moon characters, at least with the main girls so far…

So the opening themes seams to be the same. The art style is a near match. Production values are way better but so far it seems to be beat for beat a copy of the original.
