Now we're speaking my language! I'm a Crestron programmer by trade. If you want to know any more about this kind of gear, let me know.

clabretro

Ha that's amazing! Hopefully not too painful to watch. Got everything going pretty good but might've made some invalid assumptions!

Jonathan Cilley

My team manages a bunch of crestron gear as part of what we do. It’s always fun to mess around with this stuff and setup room controls along with the video controls.

Jonathan Cilley

Oh and I beg to differ… A Link to the Past is the best game ever 🤣

John Bailey

I have to agree with you there. By far the best Zelda game of all time!

Mike Kemp

Not at all! Definitely a pretty solid start. Here's a couple of things that may help you in the future if you decide to proceed further: The PRO2 unit is the "brains" of that operation. It can control over serial, IR, or Ethernet. Typically these are custom programmed, but the software is restricted to authorized dealers. However... If you want to look at what is loaded on it, SFTP port 22 is usually open by default, and at a minimum has the compiled program if it wasn't wiped. Factory reset is HW-R once followed by SW-R 5 times in rapid succession and is the only way to reset a password if it's forgotten. As far as the DM-MD switcher goes, I still have a few of those in service, and just installed the current version of one recently. Any of the cards work in any chassis! Default password is 1234. DM is also interesting. While Crestron calls it that, it is truly HDBaseT under the hood. if you were to procure a display, such as a projector with an HDBaseT input, that can be connected to a DM output with no fuss, including control if programmed correctly.

Michael Dragone

I think you can connect the computer input controller with the output controller directly over the DM ports without the 8x8 switcher in the middle. I believe one of the A/V companies we use did that in some of our conference rooms. One controller went in a conference room table and the other “side” of it went behind the room TV.

Oh very interesting, that's really useful info. I did later find the password was 1234 haha. Definitely a lot more to explore with this stuff

Also a Crestron Programmer. I have an old touch panel around here somewhere. Free if you want it. Also might be able to scrounge up an RMC3 processor if you want a newer one to mess with.

I have worked with this crestron stuff a lot running bars with tvs. it is so cool to see how it actually works on the back end. It is very expensive to have setup, and the support is very specialize $$$$$

King Austin Kelly

He needs the touch panel, thats how it all works together!

clabretro

thank you! I've been looking on ebay, if I can't hunt one down I'll message you!
