Next week, the deep dive for the precursor bases in the void clusters releases! However, there is still room to include some of your ideas in it!Precursor bases in the void will feature more than just a simple barrier unlocked by a key to keep out intruders. You'll have to solve puzzles, find secrets and make your way through several layers of security to get to the vaults, research labs or any other important area in the base! For example, you might have to solve a language puzzle by arraging precursor symbols correctly to open a certain door. A different combination might unlock a secret, or activate the bases defenses! If you have any ideas for puzzles or challenges the player could face, make sure to let us know here! Please keep in mind that these puzzles need to fit into the Subnautica unisverse and story, so a FPS shooter mission where you murder waves of architects wouldn't be suited for this (lol)I'm looking forward to your ideas!

- A kinda boring one could be having a door with incorrect connections(with the iconic green precursor base lines being these connections). Ud have to either rotate different sections or physically move them(like a sliding puzzle). - could also just have an indoor section with a button or smth that's too tall for you, so you needa get some sorta blocks from somewhere. - could also have a precursor base that's falling apart, because of the precursor leviathan going awol, and have to face the difficulties of maneuvering that claustrophobic space and not get crushed. - a database thing could possibly corrupt your pda, and so you'd need to find an antidote database thing(or smth) else you lose all of your blueprints(you'd still be able to do the necessities so ur not screwed if you die). When u get the antidote thing, u find out the the original database was just for a really complicated piece of tech - alien scanner. This could scan precursor stuff and extract important materials from them. Or maybe it is able to extract precursor biotech, which let's you breath longer and swim quicker if you scan enough.

We did think about labyriths actually, but they're really hard to justify in the lore. As for sliding puzzles, I actually like that! :) I dont think we should threaten the players existing progress though, it would get really upsetting if they didnt manage to save their bleuprints..

The blueprints would save, but be inaccessible until you complete another puzzle after(I just said blueprints cuz there's not really much else you can do with the pda). Maybe it corrupts something else that you were used to using that made your life easier? Maybe it corrupts your hydra instead and you gotta explore on "foot" to the next area. Then once u get the antidote+ extra blueprints you can bring the hydra over

What would be cool to see is a new type of precursor technology that would enable you and the hydra to be able to gather a new type of resource. This would help you progress through the bases. And with these new resources comes tools and weapons which are needed for the puzzles In the bases. And maybe at the end of the first precursor base you unlock a new tablet and or technology.

Let me expand on that Precursor sites give you research with wich you can extend your reach into the void. Cloacking tech to limit how visible you are for the predators allso more quiet engines for less noise (and more).
