Across the BattlefieldNot long after the start of the battle
The Quantum Enforcer has known that this moment would come ever since the Balancer finished off the Universe’s Will personally. He has been dealing with the Quantum Balancer for longer than he can remember, after all. And he knows very well that the Quantum Balancer is the type who would die before he failed to get revenge.
Revenge is all that matters for the Quantum Balancer.
And his revenge is not based on any sort of justice the Quantum Enforcer, also known as the Quantum Judge, believes in.
It’s based solely on the Quantum Balancer’s own selfish desires.
So the Quantum Enforcer has been preparing for this day ever since the Universe’s Will was destroyed. Yet, none of that preparation was enough. He realizes this now as he sees the enormous army brought by the Quantum Balancer.
He must hate me more than I expected.
At most the Quantum Enforcer feels irritated by the change.
Until he tries to freeze time and leave, only to find time instantly returning to normal again. Not letting him freeze it to escape.
The Quantum Enforcer’s eyes narrow as trepidation finally begins to fill him. Meanwhile his irritation rises at the sight of the Quantum Balancer suddenly appearing in his real body with a mocking smile on his face. Only for him to begin possessing people and monsters in his army once again.
Then the innocent people he is controlling begin to rush up to the Quantum Enforcer before blowing themselves up. Causing another wound to the Quantum Enforcer’s pride at the sight of the injustice in front of him.
I underestimated him. I admit that now.
With this thought, the Quantum Enforcer begins to feel that there may be a chance that he might die after all. Something he never expected in all his years working as the Quantum Enforcer.
As the Judge of the universe.
And yet, here he is, in this situation because of the revenge from one of his many judgment targets.
It’s ironic, in his eyes. Yet completely undeserved.
The Quantum Enforcer has never made a judgement that he has regretted. Even the ones where he was judged to be out of line by the universe itself. He still believes that none of his judgments were wrong.
Even now, as he faces his own potential end depending on how this battle goes, he still believes this.
So he pushes forwards with his own values. Slaying the mindless monsters being controlled and avoiding the explosions caused by the controlled mortals self-destructs.
All the way until a new and shocking variable enters the battlefield.
One that changes everything in the form of the Quantum Reaper, who he has never cared about himself.
But his interest in her skyrockets when he sees her easily absorbing the Quantum Balancer’s unique quantum energy from the mortals and releasing them from his control.
The corners of the Quantum Enforcer’s lips quirk upwards ever so slightly.
Maybe this is my reward for my values after all.

Across the BattlefieldNot long after the start of the battle
The Quantum Balancer set up so many countermeasures in this battle to make sure he gets his revenge on the Quantum Enforcer.
He burnt centuries of energy just to seal time lock in the area, blocking the Quantum Enforcer from simply freezing time and leaving.
He created an enormous army consisting mostly of innocent mortals to crush the Quantum Enforcer’s belief system and use it against him.
He even bribed the other Quantum Beings capable of helping to make sure they stay out of this conflict. Although he’s pretty certain that the Quantum Cleaner scammed him and had no interest in joining the conflict anyway. Since he can’t imagine that game junkie ever abandoning his games just to join a battle and help the annoying Quantum Enforcer.
Everything he thought might be a problem, he dealt with.
Every. Last. Thing.
And yet, that nagging sensation never went away. Which bothered him more than he could say.
And now? As he’s seeing the result of it all working just as he envisioned?
Only for everything to crash and burn with the arrival of one single person who should be dead?
A new target has been added firmly to the top of his hitlist. Especially when he sees the powers she gained from somehow clearing his trial.
How could a former mortal ever manage to do this?! It shouldn’t be possible!
Amidst the Quantum Balancer’s anger, he feels confusion as his foremost emotion. Completely dominating all other thoughts at the moment.
Because he can’t imagine how a former mortal could defeat him. Even if she was given ten attempts to do so, and shown his fighting capabilities during the trials.
There shouldn’t have been any way for her to win.
She is a former mortal turned Quantum Being, after all. A station far beyond her right.
And yet, she was able to defeat an older version of him in the trial, granting her too many counters against him. Far too many counters.
The Quantum Balancer feels genuine rage filling him as he sees her draining his own energy out of the puppet mortals. Despite her not actually doing anything.
She’s doing it entirely passively just from standing there.
A natural counter to him now that she’s passed his trial.
This sight finally makes the Quantum Balancer understand exactly what his instinct was trying to tell him.
That the threat is real, and he has been ignoring it this whole time out of sheer pride.
Out of the sheer belief that she would never be able to do anything to him, or his copy in the trial. And that she would die in the trial.
The Quantum Balancer notices the Quantum Enforcer beginning to smile, clearly enjoying this twist. Which only enrages the Quantum Balancer even more.
He returns his focus to the former mortal as she dismantles his plans one after another simply by arriving.
Once I make it out of this battle, you will be my next target.
