Alexia
The battle continues dragging on for quite a while as I go through absorbing the energy from the people being controlled by the Quantum Balancer. Meanwhile the Balancer himself tries to wear down the Quantum Enforcer.
As for what his exact plan is? I’m not sure.
He’s not targeting me. At least, not after his initial attacks ended up backfiring on him.
The Quantum Balancer is significantly stronger than me in terms of pure strength and energy capacity, but both of those are overcompensated by my immunity and devouring his energy. Tremendously reducing the damage he does.
Of course, I am not capable of dealing a lot of damage to him either. It’s just that I deal a lot more damage to him than he does to me with my immunities. And I would probably win in a battle of attrition.
There’s just too big a level gap between us.
The version of him that I fought in the trial was a significantly weaker version of him from hundreds of thousands or even millions of years ago, after all. And he’s grown a lot stronger since.
After he realized what my immunity and energy devouring does to our matchup, he just switched his focus to the Quantum Enforcer entirely. Especially once he realized that I’m focusing on the mortals under his control over him.
I kind of have to do this, though. Since he’s just going to keep body-hopping between them if I don’t deal with this problem.
Not to mention that he’s going to continue blowing them up. Which is a problem in and of itself.
So the battle continues as more of a game of chase than a battle. With me absorbing the energy from all of the people controlled by the Quantum Balancer, and the Quantum Balancer rushing in and out to attack the Quantum Enforcer, who is chasing him.
And I also make sure to teleport all of the people I free away from this Dimensional Block the moment I free them. Just to make sure that the Quantum Balancer doesn’t retake control of them again after I free them.
Because that would be annoying. And he actually tried doing that at one point closer to the start of this battle.
It barely takes any energy to teleport them away, though, so it’s fine. Especially since I’m draining far more energy from his control over them than I’m using to teleport them. Hundreds of times more, in fact.
Of course, I make sure to save up all of the energy I’m draining in preparation to fight him later. Since that should make up for the gap in energy between us.
And so, entire months begin to pass by as I drain the energy from these people and the Quantum Enforcer continues chasing the Quantum Balancer all over the place. Sometimes even leaving my sight as I focus on draining the energy from them.
But they always stay in my senses even when they leave my sight. What with my senses spanning dozens of Dimensional Blocks around us.
Fortunately for the Dimensional Blocks around us, their battle doesn’t actually leave much destruction in their wake. And they keep entering and exiting the Quantum Realm, with the Quantum Balancer occasionally summoning the people and monsters he’s controlling to his side to sacrifice them. Making me move even faster to finish up before he can sacrifice more of them.
And, after over half a year of draining the energy, I finally manage to free the billions upon billions of mortals from his control. Including the new ones he tries to take control of in the middle of the battle.
Then I begin to annihilate the monsters he has under his control. Using them both as energy sources through absorbing the Quantum Balancer’s energy, and to level from killing them at the same time. Which begins to increase my level bit by bit.
Time continues to pass for another month before I finish the last of the monsters, bringing my level all the way up to level 2601 in the process. And without wasting any time, I teleport straight to the Quantum Balancer and Quantum Enforcer, who have been fighting for ages now. Constantly using the energy of the Quantum Realm to fuel their battle from various different locations.
Which causes problems in and of itself, since the Quantum Realm doesn’t have an infinite amount of quantum energy.
From what Zal said, the Quantum Beings are supposed to limit the amount of energy they pull from the Quantum Realm to make sure problems don’t arise from it. But since the Universe’s Will was destroyed, and the Quantum Ruler is crippled right now, there’s nothing to enforce that.
I frown at the sight of the ripples running through the Quantum Realm before refocusing on the Quantum Balancer and the Quantum Enforcer. Neither of whom look like they’ve been fighting for over half a year.
How do they fight for so long without even breaking a sweat… Is it because they’re millions, billions, or maybe even trillions of years old?
Actually, I don’t know how old the Quantum Beings are. I just know that the Quantum Ruler is about the same age as the universe itself. And he and the Universe’s Core are behind the creation of the other Quantum Beings.
I know from what some of my allies and even my family have said that people’s sense of time gets distorted over the years. So is that it?
Is it really just because I’m far younger than any of them and have a different perspective on time?
Regardless of what the answer is, when I arrive, the Quantum Balancer looks visibly upset with me. And for obvious reasons, considering that I just finished dismantling his entire army.
“Why don’t you just give up now, Zorblax?” the Quantum Enforcer asks with an indifferent expression on his face. “If you do, I will forgive your offenses after sealing away your power.”
I frown slightly at his words. Mostly because I feel like it would be a complete waste of time if he actually gives up.
My reward would decrease for one. Which would make this significantly less worth the time I spent absorbing energy.
“You expect me to give up just because you have a mortal brat with you?” the Quantum Balancer asks, genuine fury filling his words and slightly confusing me with the ‘mortal brat’ comment. “You’ve lost your edge if you truly believe that.”
Then, to my surprise, the Quantum Balancer turns into energy and floods the area around us.
What’s he doing now?
