The Quantum Balancer practically shrieks by the time he takes control of the Quantum Enforcer’s body. Showing very clearly just how much that soul damage hurts. But I don’t leave it there as I continue attacking with both my scythe and my own quantum energy. Gradually chipping away at the Quantum Balancer’s soul while he’s taking over the body.

Even after the process of him taking over the Quantum Enforcer’s body finishes, I still keep attacking him. It’s just that he blocks most of my attacks now that he can.

And he looks absolutely pissed off while doing so.

I don’t mind, though.

The Quantum Balancer begins to attack me with his full strength now. Dealing a significant amount of damage.

Quite a bit more damage than when he was just using his own body.

Is he just stronger when controlling someone? Or maybe he has access to whatever passive effects the Quantum Enforcer’s body has?

That could be it.

Either way, his attacks are stronger than my own even with my energy absorption. So whenever he counters my attacks with his own, his attacks come out on top. Every time.

All the way until he returns to his own body, leaving me faced with two very angry glares. One from the Quantum Balancer, and one from the Quantum Enforcer.

Both of which I ignore. Because the Quantum Enforcer himself gave me permission to go all out.

The Quantum Enforcer eventually shakes his head and refocuses on the Quantum Balancer. Attacking the man before he can even recover from his anger.

This time I don’t sit back as I rush forward and begin attacking the Quantum Balancer myself as well. And I even move near the attacks sent at the Quantum Enforcer to drain some of the energy in them. Without being hit by said attacks, of course.

There’s no reason to protect the Quantum Enforcer. Especially not at the risk of damage to myself.

I just take extra energy without getting hurt. Weakening the attacks on the Quantum Enforcer and, more importantly, filling up my little energy bank even more.

Then I use the very energy I siphoned from him and converted to my own quantum energy to attack the Quantum Balancer.

Of course, he blocks most of my attacks. Just like when he was in the Quantum Enforcer’s body. Doesn’t let even a single one through. But I do at least manage to distract him, letting the Quantum Enforcer get some attacks in. And he’s not actually doing much of anything to me.

Almost all of the Quantum Balancer’s attacks are focused on the Quantum Enforcer. With the few attacks that do hit me only doing a decent amount of damage that I heal immediately through the very energy he gives me.

As for the Quantum Enforcer? He’s doing the exact same thing I am. Reversing the damage from all of the attacks that hit him through his time specific variant Quantum Energy.

Except that he’s doing it even better than me since that’s his specialization.

Which is going to be a major nuisance when I eventually do his trial.

He is currently draining energy from the Quantum Realm to do this, though, so he will eventually run out. Unlike me, since I’m just draining energy from the Quantum Balancer to heal.

The Quantum Balancer would have to run out for me to run out of energy.

I can’t help but smirk at that thought as the battle continues. With the three of us pretty much entering a cycle of sorts.

The Quantum Balancer tries to attack the Quantum Enforcer while the Quantum Enforcer and I attack him back and I drain his attack’s energy.

The Quantum Balancer takes control of the Quantum Enforcer as I cut into both of their souls during the opening.

The Quantum Balancer starts to attack me with a lot more power than before, dealing some actual damage that I recover from.

The Quantum Balancer’s control wears off and I’m left with two very angry Quantum Beings.

Rinse and repeat.

Things only eventually begin to change when the Quantum Balancer seems to realize that he’s not doing shit to me. So he gives up on attacking me entirely and focuses instead on attacking the Quantum Enforcer. Even while he’s controlling the Quantum Enforcer’s body, he just injures the body he’s in while defending against my attacks.

And, if I’m being honest, this whole battle feels weird.

Very weird.

After all, I’m barely taking any real damage. Sure his attacks hurt, but they also give me enough energy to reverse the damage immediately. So the Quantum Balancer literally isn’t doing shit to me.

Will fights with other Quantum Beings whose trials I’ve cleared be like this?

Of course, he isn’t a directly combat oriented Quantum Being. Which should make him easier to deal with than the directly combat related ones.

But the Quantum Balancer is still more of a fighter than, say, the Quantum Archon or Quantum Scribe.

I frown as I remember being stabbed with the pen sword by the Quantum Scribe.

Then again, I probably won’t ever be able to test it out. Seeing as the non-combat aren’t very aggressive and likely won’t stop their jobs to bother with causing trouble.

Anyway, the battle continues to drag on for a very long time. All the way until the Quantum Balancer finally begins to show genuine hints of fear. Almost like he wants to run away.

The Quantum Enforcer doesn’t let him, though, as he eventually seals the three of us in a place where time and space itself is separated from the outside.

Which also cuts us all off from the Quantum Realm, stopping us from drawing on the quantum energy there to fight.

Probably because he thinks it’s just drawing out the battle, and that me and the Quantum Enforcer don’t need that energy to fight the Quantum Balancer.

And he’s not wrong as the battle quickly begins to take a turn.
