Something I didn’t consider before is that the Quantum Balancer likely has things he can do that he couldn’t do in the trial. Since it’s been so long since the actual time that the version of him in the trial existed.

It would actually be weirder if he hasn’t created new techniques with his powers that he didn’t have before. Because that would mean that he’s been sitting around doing nothing for longer than I or anyone I know but Zal and other Quantum Beings have been alive.

Actually, it may have even been longer than Zal has been alive. Zal was born long after the other current Quantum Beings, after all.

So, while I shouldn’t be surprised, I am surprised when I see the energy making up the Quantum Balancer suddenly flooding directly into the Quantum Enforcer. Then the Quantum Enforcer begins to glow and I see the same arrogant and rude expression appearing on the Quantum Enforcer’s face that I saw on the Quantum Balancer before.

Please tell me he didn’t just do what I think he did…

Moments later, the Quantum Enforcer suddenly rushes at me and swings a blade made out of the Quantum Balancer’s energy. Not the Quantum Enforcer’s energy, but the Quantum Balancer.

“What the-” I start, only to cut off while teleporting away. But not quickly enough to avoid the blade cutting into my shoulder.

Fortunately, the blade is made out of the Quantum Balancer’s energy. Not the Quantum Enforcer. So the Quantum Balancer’s control over the Quantum Enforcer doesn’t seem to include control over his energy. Which is good, because it doesn’t hurt me much.

Still. How is he even able to take control of the Quantum Enforcer in the first place?

And… what do I do now? Do I just fight the Quantum Enforcer’s body?

I move around, avoiding his attacks as much as I can while also blocking some attacks that I can’t avoid. Just trying to figure out what to do and, at the same time, trying to figure out any differences in his current fighting style compared to his old one.

Then the energy controlling the Quantum Enforcer suddenly breaks away, and the Quantum Balancer reforms his body while the Quantum Enforcer regains his control.

Huh. Is his control only temporary?

On another note, the Quantum Enforcer looks furious. No doubt due to having had his body controlled against his will.

“You disgusting little gremlin,” the Quantum Enforcer roars before rushing forwards and creating a sword out of his own quantum energy. One that seems to age everything it touches.

This might actually be good study material for whenever I do the Quantum Enforcer’s trial, now that I think about it…

The Quantum Enforcer keeps swinging his blade at the Quantum Balancer over and over again, only occasionally managing to hit the slippery Quantum Being. And after an hour, the Quantum Balancer suddenly turns into energy again, making me believe that he’s about to take control of the Quantum Enforcer again.

Only for the energy to rush towards me.

What the hell?! Is he trying to take over my body this time?!

I try to teleport out of the way, but the energy is faster and quickly wraps itself around my entire body. Which feels absolutely disgusting in the process. Almost like another skin is trying to wrap itself around me, and it feels worse than anything I’ve felt in a very long time.

But it doesn’t last long before I feel the energy suddenly being devoured by my own body.

Huh?

Oh, right. My passive devouring Racial Skill from my True Form.

I can’t help but grin as the energy rapidly declines in density around my body before a loud roar of pain echoes around the area. Then the energy that was trying to cover me breaks off of me with a shattering sound. Only to reform again further away in the form of a much more tired-looking Quantum Balancer.

Not to mention pained and pissed off as he glares at me.

Meanwhile I notice the Quantum Enforcer just smirking in amusement.

“It feels good to watch someone else on the receiving end of a devourer’s tricks,” the Quantum Enforcer declares, clearly mocking the Quantum Balancer while also reminding me that he chased Mom for a very long time. Which is irritating to think about.

What’s not irritating, though, is that my energy tank was over-filled even more after absorbing the energy used in his attempt to take control of my body. So that’s nice.

The Quantum Enforcer and Quantum Balancer return to their little battle as I watch a little bit more. Just studying how the Quantum Enforcer fights.

Then, after another two hours this time – probably because of his failed attempt on me – the Quantum Balancer turns into energy again and takes control of the Quantum Enforcer for the second time. Completely wiping the smirk off of his face in the process. Only for the smirk to return but from the Quantum Balancer in his body.

I guess he’s going to continue taking over the Quantum Enforcer’s body alone since he can’t take over mine.

Not that I’m complaining. Even if his attempt failed miserably and even backfired on him, it still felt absolutely disgusting to feel him trying to take over my body.

So I once again begin to battle the Quantum Balancer in the Quantum Enforcer’s body. Just getting used to his combat, blocking attacks, and dodging the rest. All the way until his control breaks once more and he returns to reform his own body.

Then the Quantum Enforcer, albeit with the look of someone swallowing his pride, shouts, “Quantum Reaper, go all out against the Quantum Balancer even when he is in my body!”

I blink at that before smirking.

Alright. Since I have permission, there’s no reason not to anymore.

The Quantum Balancer looks annoyed, but I go ahead and go all out the next time he takes control of the Quantum Enforcer. Striking him with my scythe before the control even fully takes hold. Dealing soul damage directly to the Quantum Balancer’s soul.

Some damage probably hits the Quantum Enforcer’s soul too, but he said to go all out, so I’m doing it.

With a wide grin on my face, which has nothing to do with the Quantum Enforcer’s time spent chasing Mom.

Nothing at all.
