Aqua

I let out a yawn as I lie in bed watching a livestream. One of a Pioneer named Vladric Moore.

The man is on a planet covered in volcanoes, and his powers are mainly blood related. Although he isn’t doing all that well, considering how exhausted he is, and how his livestream has less than one percent of the viewers mine has.

I’ve also heard that he doesn’t have nearly as many entertainment industry jobs lined up.

As for his level?

He’s scraping by at around level two hundred in a world where people suspect the most powerful being on the planet is around level four hundred and eighty. And he’s been a Pioneer for longer than I have.

I watch him for a little while before switching to another Pioneer’s broadcast. Where I find a young woman at level four hundred fighting against a large snake inside of a swamp. With her using fire magic against the serpent.

Then I continue to switch between one Pioneer after another out of sheer curiosity. Rolling over on my bed as I do so to lie on my stomach.

It’s nice to just relax and do nothing but watch someone else’s Pioneer broadcast for a first.

I spend about an hour watching a Pioneer after finding a relatively interesting one. Then I, out of curiosity, switch over to watching an Official Pioneer broadcast instead of a basic Pioneer broadcast. Just to see the general difference in how they conduct the broadcast.

And it’s a massive difference. I realize that right away.

The basic Pioneer broadcasts I saw were all very unprofessional, no doubt due to the broadcast just straight up starting without the permission of the Pioneer. And a lot of the Pioneers are struggling to survive, with a very chaotic and uncontrolled chat that is significantly smaller in size.

But the Official Pioneer broadcast is very different.

The Official Pioneer’s broadcast that I check out has hundreds of moderators keeping a close eye on the chat, with billions of viewers, all of whom are split up into different rooms to watch. His livestream is a lot shorter in length, having only been livestreaming for a couple hours during this livestream, and he seems to have actual content for his livestream.

It even has a title for this stream.

Hunting Pirates.

And his stream itself is just that. Him going around and hunting pirates in space.

One of the other large differences in this broadcast is the fact that the Official Pioneer’s level is vastly higher than the other Pioneers I’ve seen on those broadcasts. With the Official Pioneer being over level three thousand.

From what I understand, the average level for a soldier in the Alliance for the lower level worlds is around level three hundred. Then it’s around eight hundred for higher level worlds. And finally, around level one thousand five hundred for top worlds, and two thousand five hundred for the capital planets of the largest powers in the Alliance.

So this Official Pioneer is around as strong as elites from the capital planets.

And he’s apparently one of the lower level Official Pioneers.

A lot of Official Pioneers tend to be very high level.

Of course, he’s nowhere near as high level as the Bloodliners, who are all at the very minimum above level ten thousand. But he’s still very high level compared to me. And compared to Oceana in general.

It’s interesting that this Official Pioneer is broadcasting himself hunting other human users instead of hunting monsters. But it makes sense that it would work.

People don’t exactly like pirates, and him hunting them would increase his popularity by making space safer during trips between planet and for trade. At the same time, it gives EXP for killing the pirates.

Although most pirates aren’t very strong, so they don’t give that much EXP. But he’s at least hunting the strongest pirates he can find to minimalize that lack of EXP.

As for the donations that are flooding his livestream?

Yeah, he’s just going to be filthy rich. Just the amount he’s earning from this one broadcast is probably enough to fund an entire planet’s development for years.

Which makes sense. There are billions of viewers on this broadcast alone.

So if even a single percent of his viewers donate, then he’s getting donations from millions of people.

That definitely gets an enormous amount. And this isn’t even considering how much money this Official Pioneer earns from everything else he does.

Businesses, income from his planet, investments, income from his entertainment industry jobs, and more.

It makes sense now why everyone says the richest people in the Alliance are the Official Pioneers.

I watch the broadcast for a little bit as the Official Pioneer slaughters the pirates with ease through a bunch of death magic, summoning skeletons as he does so. Then I finally close out of the broadcast and get off the bed.

Time to make some preparations.

With that thought, I make a call to Mom, asking her if she can look after my planet as I go hunt monsters on a different ocean world.

“Of course,” Mom answers without any hesitation. “And I would recommend the ocean world of Kanal for your hunt. The weakest monsters there are in the four hundred range, with the most powerful monsters being upwards of level nine hundred to a thousand.”

A smile spreads across my face.

That’s a very nice level range for my current level.

“Thank you!” I tell her, making her smile in return before I start chatting a little bit about the stuff I just learned about the Official Pioneers. Despite knowing that she probably already knows this stuff.

I just feel like talking. There’s no other reason for it.

After we talk for a little while, I eventually leave the base to inform the Guildmasters about my departure. And about how my mother will be handling the affairs of the planet for now.

Of course, they’re not particularly happy to hear about this news. Since I’m pretty much telling them that I’m dumping management of the planet onto someone they don’t know. But I don’t really care about how they feel about it.

With that out of the way, I go ahead and begin scheduling a ship to come out and pick me up in a few days. Only to find that Mom has already done that for me.

I can’t help but smile at that before I go ahead and spend the next few days just relaxing. Then I finally take my Abyssal Lord, Vir, with me when the ship arrives. Beginning to make our way to the ocean planet of Kanal.

From what I’ve heard about the planet, Kanal is a much larger ocean planet than Oceana. It is also older, has more mana in it, and has plenty of cities floating on the surface of the water.

None of the cities are underwater like the cities in Oceana. All because the monsters down there are just too powerful.

The ocean also gets a lot deeper than Oceana since the planet is larger.

With the waters reaching all the way down to thirty thousand meters in depth.

Thanks to this, the lower depths of the planet are far more dangerous. Not just because of how high their levels are, but because they’re not managed well.

They’re just too deep into the oceans.

The dungeons all end up flooding the deep layers of the ocean, both with monsters and with the remains of the dungeons. And enormous and powerful monsters tend to take over the remains of the dungeons. Making them even more dangerous.

On top of that, the mana in the planet has affected the water, altering the amount of light in any particular area to be completely unreliant on the sun. So there are places over twenty thousand or even twenty-five thousand meters deep that are as bright as if they were on the surface of the water. Meanwhile there are places just a couple hundred meters deep that are so dark no one can see. Not even over level one thousand.

And the monsters take advantage of these locations to make their nests.

Overall, the planet is far more dangerous than Oceana. And it’ll have a lot more prey for me to hunt than Oceana as well.

So I’m looking forward to arriving.
