Within the Disaster System
Raja, Artorius, and Lucilia all simultaneously nod their heads as the plan sets into motion. Signaling to each other that they’re ready. Then they all rush straight at the ruler of the disaster system before the Emperor and Empress of the Crimson Empire move to strike at the ruler’s head and stomach. Meanwhile the Pharaoh of the Rex Dynasty of the Dead rushes straight into the ruler’s mouth to begin the rescue operation.
Completely ignoring the other Grands who are all fighting against the Horseman of Pestilence as they focus on their main priority. Confusing the people watching the live news broadcast of the battle in the process.
Until Raja emerges from within the ruler carrying a large barrier surrounding a small platform with a lawn chair and a TV on it.
Silence spreads all across the universe at the sight of Aria still watching TV without paying much of any attention to the fact that she’s been taken out of the ruler’s stomach. Then the livestream and chatter all across the universe explodes as people begin talking about how she’s been inside of the ruler’s body this entire time. Answering the question of where she’s been that everyone has been asking.
The other Grands show relief at the sight of Aria being out of the ruler. Not because they were worried about her, but because it means the pharaoh, emperor, and empress will now fully focus on the battle against Pestilence.
And Pestilence himself just disregards Aria entirely after seeing that she is still in child form, proving the effectiveness of his experiment. Even if she’s returned to looking like a teenager now after months of being in this form.
Finally, after being sent further away from the battle to make sure she isn’t swallowed again, the Grands all fully focus on the battle against Pestilence.
Aria
The moment I finish watching the last episode recorded of my TV show, I sit back with a smile on my face. Only to realize that I’m not inside of the ruler’s stomach anymore.
Wait, how did I get out?
I blink in surprise for a few moments before glancing at the battle going on in the disaster system that surprisingly doesn’t have any lava anymore. Then I just shrug and go back to watching the TV show. But this time the streamed episodes that have released since Raja last put the show on the device.
So the episodes I don’t have and couldn’t watch in the ruler’s stomach.
Good timing.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice some of the knights from the Crimson Empire and royal guard from the Rex Dynasty moving the little barrier I’m in around to avoid the ruler. Likely trying to keep the thing from eating me during the battle.
Which I actually appreciate, since it keeps me from losing service again.
It would be annoying if I were interrupted in the middle of watching my show.
I largely ignore the events of the battle as I continue binging through what’s out of this TV show. Then, by the time I finish watching it, I find that my body has already returned to looking about fourteen or so years old again. Which is much better than looking like a little kid.
My focus finally turns toward the battle, where I find the disaster system genuinely looking like a disaster at this point. It’s filled with poison, bits of lava splashed around, chunks of magma, holes in reality itself, lots of blood, flashes of crimson lightning, and even more destruction all over the place.
There’s also a rather large army of fallen demons working alongside the Demon King to fight against Pestilence too, for reasons I don’t know.
When and why did the Demon King arrive to help…?
I blink in confusion before eventually just shrugging.
Whatever. Doesn’t really affect me.
Amidst all of this chaos is my enormous Death’s Court that is spread across the entire disaster system in the form of a bunch of towers with the occasional structure. With the structures just floating in space.
I watch the battle as it occurs. As the Grands all fight hard against Pestilence. Gradually whittling him down in the process.
But that’s not all as he hurts them even more than they hurt him.
Which proves just how powerful Pestilence is.
The only reason the Grands seem to be balanced out against him right now is that the ruler sometimes attacks him. And the Grands are pushing it to attack him more.
Specifically the fallen demons, who look like they’re just trying to piss off the ruler and drive it towards Pestilence.
Actually, it looks like Pestilence is taking more damage now than he was showing before. While the other Grands aren’t taking as much as they currently have.
Were they just lazing away before? Why does it look like they suddenly started fighting a lot harder?
I frown while tilting my head at the sight, only to eventually shrug.
Whatever the reason, they’re working better now than before. So that means they’ll push forward and take the advantage in this battle.
Pestilence seems to be irritated about it too. Although I can’t help but notice him showing me a mildly annoyed look. Almost like he blamed me for this.
Which is ridiculous. I’ve done nothing but watch TV and read the entire time I’ve been here, so I don’t have anything to do with this battle.
Maybe he’s just irritated with the results of his poison from that experiment?
Probably. There’s nothing else that comes to mind that could be the reason for it.
He might even just be looking at someone behind me.
Anyway, it’s probably not my problem. So I ignore the look he’s sending me as I kick back and relax. Just watching the battle occur in front of me.
I’ve already finished reading the new books of my favorite series, and I’ve finished all of my current TV shows. Which leaves me without all that much to do anymore. Especially since I can’t leave this area.
And, more importantly, the main reason I came here is kind of pointless now. Since I came here for the mana creatures in the disaster system. But at this point, all of those mana creatures have been wiped out in the battle.
Although there are still some fallen demons dying that are giving me progress for my purpose, but there are far fewer of those than the mana creatures used to number.
I let out a sigh of regret at the idea of losing my free purpose progress.
Then again, I’m not really sure if it’s losing, per se, since I’ve already gained all of that progress.
Anyway, the battle continues raging on for weeks, turning into a battle of attrition between all of the Grands and the ruler of the disaster system. With the Demon King not really doing much beyond pissing off the ruler and Pestilence, attracting the ruler’s attention towards Pestilence.
And I can’t help but wonder just how long this battle is going to go on throughout this. Since I’m starting to get bored.
It’s stretching on so long that the experiment on me is gradually wearing off. With me slowly aging back to my adult form again.
Fortunately, there’s still internet in here. So I just continue to watch TV and read while I’m stuck in this place, inside of the sealed space of the disaster system.
Things eventually begin to change, though. When the ruler starts to let out loud wails of pain, bringing my attention to it where I find the thing flooded with different pestilences discoloring its body.
It looks like the ruler is finally starting to show the signs of Pestilence’s work over the course of this battle.
Time to see if this changes anything, or if they just continue fighting each other.
