Yeah, I wasn’t expecting Leo to just go around fishing while we’re waiting for the battle to reach its climax. Wasn’t expecting that at all.

I have no complaints about it, though. Since it increases my score further.

Plus he’s cute.

Occasionally, Leo heads out to gather more fish. But I just spend the time lying down on my lawn chair, watching the hunters all try to kill the giant leviathan. Gradually whittling it down bit by bit.

And, after twenty-five minutes of the final thirty minutes pass, I finally decide to step in. When the leviathan is covered in massive wounds across its body with part of its tail cut off and all of one flipper cut off.

At this point, the only hunters still fighting the leviathan are the royals. Even the less combat focused royals are fighting now. Including Diana, who I found competing with Leo to gather fish at one point.

The specific moment I decide to step in is when all of them work together to send powerful attacks at once at the leviathan. I activate dozens of skills at once while mixing Eternal Snow into them and gazing directly at where I’m attacking with my Gaze of Destruction. Sending an enormous glob of attacks directly at the leviathan. With the attacks being completely different from each other, and all centralized around a single spot.

The leviathan’s brain. Which is not in its head, according to one of my many skills. A skill that lets me determine where a target’s weakest points are.

I haven’t had much use for it, seeing as most things I’ve fought have had pretty obvious locations for weak points. Especially humans and other humanoid users.

Most people who end up in the System are humanoid and have their hearts in their upper torso and their brains in their heads. And even the non-humanoid ones still have a similar interior.

The only creatures I’ve found that don’t follow that system seem to be aquatic creatures. Like the leviathan.

All of them have their important organs in some rather strange and random locations. Like one squid I saw before that had its brain at the end of one of its tentacles and another that had a heart in its head.

There are certainly some odd creatures in the universe.

Like this one, considering this leviathan’s brain is at the end of one of its flippers. Ironically enough, the undamaged one. Although, I guess that’s probably on purpose. The leviathan likely made sure to avoid getting hurt on that flipper.

Not this time, though, as my attacks quickly crash into its flipper thanks to the attacks of the other hunters crashing into several other locations on the monster. Specifically its upper torso and head. Killing the leviathan in the process.

But, despite me only attacking for the first time now at the end, I find the System Messages appearing in my vision anyway.

The other hunters who attacked the leviathan alongside me look surprised as they turn to look at me. Seemingly unsure of what just happened since they probably don’t have a method to detect the leviathan’s critical organs.

I just give a firm nod of my head before quickly turning my ship around and speeding off into the distance. Letting the last few minutes run out in the process.

While the clock runs out, I open up the leaderboards again to take a last look at it.

Huh. It looks like Diana’s scavenging for fish actually did change things up a bit.

She passed Azaryth for second place.

I glance back at the others to find one man in particular chasing after me. Azaryth Valecrown.

He doesn’t look too pleased either. Probably because I just stole the final kill on the leviathan.

I turn away and face forward again as my ship continues moving forward. Even as the waves behind me rise higher and higher from the leviathan’s now-dead body crashing into the water.

His anger doesn’t really matter. Not when the event is about to end any second now.

I also have something far more important to look at.

The new root skill and Skill Tree I got from that leviathan, to be specific.

So, without further ado, I go ahead and open my Skill Trees before navigating to find the new Skill Tree and new skill. And the new root skill I got from the leviathan is actually very useful.

{Cross Charge Blast – This skill allows the user to merge the effects of any number of their skills, charge them with energy, and fire them all in a single blast. Using this skill may alter the effects of the skills used with it depending on how the skills mix.}

Huh. That… actually looks like it could be a very useful skill for me. Considering that it doesn’t seem to have a limit to how many skills I can use with it.

It’s also likely the skill that the leviathan was using for that beam attack. The one mixing the powers of all four oceans into one beam.

I can’t wait to try this skill out. It’s too bad I used up all of my energy with that last attack, though. So I don’t have the energy left to try it right now.

If it’s as good as I think it’ll be, this skill could make for a very good finishing attack.

I smile at that thought even when the prince is getting very close to my ship. Only for us all to be teleported back to the stadium upon the end of the Official System Event.

And the moment we arrive, I hear cheering echoing throughout the audience. Showing just how pleased the audience is with this Official System Event.

I give a brief wave to the audience before going ahead and waiting a little bit as they do interviews and all that before leaving without actually speaking much.

Then I lie down on my bed and begin to relax for the night. Because I’ve already done quite a bit with this latest Official System Event.

Of course, it doesn’t take long before I find numerous messages appearing in my inbox. Most of which are from various different royal families.

The only ones I actually set aside to look at tomorrow are the ones from the royal families who participated in that Official System Event.

Still. Before any of that, it’s time to rest and recover my energy.

With that thought in mind, I close my eyes and fall asleep on my bed.
