Ashley

When I return to Val, the first thing I do is lie down in my bed and begin browsing through my Skill Trees list. Because I’ve amassed a rather large number of Skill Points over the past few events.

More Skill Points than I’ve ever had at one time before, in fact. Except when I unlocked the Chaos skill, that is. Since that was extremely expensive.

Although I technically used a token for that and didn't spend Skill Points for Chaos. So I guess this is the most I've ever had at one time before.

And the Skill Trees I spend all of these Skill Points on are easy to decide.

I use them all on the two Unique Skill Trees in my arsenal. Because I haven’t unlocked anything in them in a while.

And with the number of Skill Points I have right now, I should be able to unlock several skills across both Unique Skill Trees.

So I lie in bed, leisurely browsing through the two Unique Skill Trees in search of which skills to unlock. Then I unlock a few skills in particular.

{Coat of the Eternal Frost – UNIQUE SKILL – This skill grants the user a retractable coat of fur made out of Eternal Snow that feels just like the fur of a tiger. Giving the user a significant increase in their defense when active.}

{Niflheim – UNIQUE SKILL – Upon use, the user emits an explosive blast of Eternal Snow energy all around them, turning their surroundings into a wasteland of ice and snow.}

{Tail of the Queen – UNIQUE SKILL – This skill grants the Queen of Destruction a retractable tail.}

{Destruction Block – UNIQUE SKILL – This skill completely negates every tenth attack that hits the Queen of Destruction.}

Overall, it ends up being a pretty nice set of skills.

Coat of the Eternal Frost is pretty much just a Tigress of the Eternal Snow version of the Scales of a Ruler I get from my Queen of Destruction Unique Skill Tree, but the Niflheim skill I get after it is a strong final hit and area of effect attack skill. Which is something I didn’t have before. At least not for my ice skills.

As for Tail of the Queen? I’m still aiming for Destruction Immunity, which is in either the tail branch or the wing branch of the miscellaneous branch for Queen of Destruction. Or it should be.

This whole branching thing in the Queen of Destruction Skill Tree is annoying since I don’t know for sure which branch what I’m wanting is in. But it should be in the miscellaneous branch, considering that the mana manipulation was in it instead of in the magic branch, and Destruction Immunity sounds miscellaneous on top of that.

And when I activate Tail of the Queen, I get a very odd sensation as a tail covered in crimson scales with glowing crimson destruction energy leaking out between the scales. Just like when I use my Scales of the Ruler skill.

I swing my tail a few times after getting off the bed, and the thing feels pretty strong. Probably stronger than my arms and legs, and maybe stronger than my wings.

So it should be useful.

At the very least, it’s another appendage I can move around, attack, and block with. Which is always useful in a battle.

As for the last one? That skill will probably be extremely useful in battle. Especially if I use it right.

A skill that completely negates every tenth attack that hits me.

With a skill like this, I should be able to calculate the number of hits that strike me and manage it so that a powerful hit becomes the tenth hit. Assuming the enemy I’m facing doesn’t just have a massive flood of attacks they can barrage me with, and that they don’t figure out what I’m doing.

If they figure it out, then they could probably trick me and use a weaker attack for the tenth while making it seem powerful. Or something like that.

Either way, I’m pretty satisfied with these skills.

As for the next skill that opens up and reveals itself to me after these?

The next miscellaneous skill is actually a stealth skill. It’s one that completely destroys my presence, making it incredibly difficult for someone near my level to notice me when the skill is active.

Unfortunately, I don’t really have much use for stealth skills. So it won’t be all that useful to me.

Not presently, at least.

The next skill that opens up and reveals itself for purchase in the Tigress of Eternal Snow Unique Skill Tree, however, is a lot more useful. With the skill in question being one called Skill Lock.

A skill that lets me freeze another skill in an active state. Leaving a skill activated until I either run out of energy to keep Skill Lock activated, or until I decide to deactivate it personally.

And this works for skills with time limits for how long they remain active. Like my kill streak skills, for example.

I could use Skill Lock on it to freeze the skill’s progress so that the boost I get from a kill streak doesn’t go away until Skill Lock is no longer activated.

The only issue is that this particular skill costs twenty-five thousand Skill Points to unlock. So it is extremely expensive.

But the skill itself seems to be worth it, so…

I just can’t afford it right now. Which means I have my next target for what to purchase when I build up the Skill Points for it.

Actually, it’s not just for skill time usage restrictions. I could also use that skill on the skills of enemies, freezing their skill in place as well to restrict one of their skills.

Which only makes the skill even more useful to me.

I can’t help but smile at the thought of purchasing this skill when I save up enough. But my smile doesn’t last long before something… odd… happens.

Some sort of black orb materializes in front of me as if it was hidden away. Then a Gate begins to appear around the orb.

I blink in surprise before finding myself already getting pulled into the Gate. And moments before I am forced into the Gate, I hear Chaos’ panicked voice echoing through my mind as he tries to stop it.

But even he’s too late as his voice cuts off entirely when I enter the Gate. Which is odd, since he should still be able to talk in regular Gates.

Or, it is odd, until I hear a strange warbling sound echoing through the dark void I find myself in, following which I see a message appear in my vision.

♢– SasxdFasdfASdv asdf ASDyfASdf  –♢

You have heard the Unique Monster of the Unique Domain. The following objectives have been unlocked.

Complete Objective 1 to conquer the Unique Domain.

Objective 1: Kill the Void God

Objective 2: Seal all twenty-five Void Rifts

Objective 3: Survive

Objective 4: Slay the five Void Demi-Gods

I stare blankly at the message before looking around. But I can’t find anything no matter how hard I look. Nothing that could be the Unique Monster, at least.

All I find are a bunch of void creatures all over the place that look like weird abominations of flesh, tentacles, scales, and all sorts of other parts. With the only real similarity being that they’re all pitch black and shiny in color and texture.

I take a moment to collect myself before identifying the monsters.

♢ Level 501 Voidling – 783 Potential Skills – X ♢

♢ Level 504 Voidling – 441 Potential Skills – X ♢

♢ Level 521 Voidling – 350 Potential Skills – X ♢

♢ Level 514 Voidling – 142 Potential Skills – X ♢

♢ Level 516 Voidling – 884 Potential Skills – X ♢

Huh.

So… I got stuck in another Unique Domain? And this one is a Class C Unique Domain. One directly at my own level.

I’m also the only one in it this time. Probably.

Unlike with the King of Destruction Unique Domain where I was stuck in it with Blake and had his help.

This… is bad.

The only bright side is that I have two Unique Skill Trees of my own this time, so I can easily be considered a Unique Being at this point too. Drastically decreasing the threat level.

But a Unique Monster is still a Unique Monster. And I’m still not even sure how this happened, since there should be warning signs before a Unique Domain appears.

What’s worse than all of this combined, though, is that I don’t have any skills to defend or fight against void enemies.

Which means I’m not in the best shape to fight these enemies.

I grit my teeth at that thought before deciding that the first course of action is to get some skills to fight them by killing these things.

After I figure out where the Unique Monster’s warbling – I’m guessing that was the Unique Monster – came from.
