Aidan

I smile after finishing off the boss of my thirtieth dungeon and finding a loot box appearing that I open to receive 25 Victory Points. Adding onto the previous seven hundred Victory Points in my metaphorical pocket from the other dungeons.

These dungeons are good for Victory Points.

I also have over nine hundred Victory Points from my monsters in the dungeon killing enemies over on the other planet. So I have a little over one thousand six hundred Victory Points total now.

One thing I am interested in about these dungeons I’ve been clearing is the bosses held within them. Since I was rather curious at first what they would be like.

After all, the boss I have is only because I was given a boss unlock by the System for ranking first in the entire galaxy. Which made me wonder how the other users managed to get bosses for their dungeons.

As it turns out, when a user does not have any bosses unlocked, the System will automatically charge them twenty-five thousand War Points to upgrade an elite monster into a boss monster. Which will give them a boss monster, but it will not only take up one of their elite monsters, but the boss monster that is made from the upgrade isn’t as strong as the actual boss monsters users can unlock.

So my boss monster is stronger than any other user’s boss monster.

This was all apparently explained to the other users who had no boss monsters unlocked when the Multiversal War began. I just never got an explanation since I already have a boss monster unlocked.

Anyway, after leaving through the dungeon exit that appears next to me now that the boss is dead, I go ahead and open the Victory Points Shop. Then I browse to the things I can buy that are in my price range. Or almost in my price range for some of them.

Victory Points Shop

Victory Points: 1641

1 Hour Monster Enhancement – 1,000 Victory Points – Enhances the monsters in a single dungeon sent by the user to the enemy planet for one hour. During this time, the monsters will have their levels increased by ten until the time runs out and their levels return to normal. This does not increase the Tier of the monsters, capping their levels at the highest level of their Tier. The boss monster of the dungeon will have its stats increased by thirty percent.

Full Restore – 500 Victory Points – Fully restores the user’s body to top condition. Conditions: The user cannot be in the middle of a battle, and some status conditions cannot be healed. 0/3 Purchased this month.

Mana Potion – 10 Victory Points – Gives the user a basic mana potion that can restore twenty-five percent of their total mana. Note: Drinking more than four of these in one day will cause potion sickness.

Immediate Dungeon Retry Coupon – 1,000 Victory Points – Gives the user a single coupon to challenge a dungeon again within the twenty-four hour lockdown period after fleeing dungeon.

Dungeon Seal – 10,000 Victory Points – Allows the user to seal one dungeon for an additional two days, extending the amount of time it will take to break by that time. This can only be used once per dungeon.

Additional Dungeon Slot Perk – 10,000 Victory Points – Allows the user to send an additional dungeon to the planet they are at war with. This may be purchased multiple times.

Advanced Healing Potion – 300 Victory Points – Gives the user an advanced healing potion that can heal most wounds other than lost limbs and illnesses.

Return

◊◊◊◊◊

It has a rather large variety of different things to purchase. With several of them looking useful in certain situations.

And others tell me things I didn’t realize were rules in the first place.

Like the dungeon retry coupon. I didn’t realize there was a twenty-four hour lockdown period after fleeing a dungeon.

I’ve never fled a dungeon, after all. And the voidlings work like well-oiled machines, clearing their own dungeons one after another.

Just like my own voidlings that I created who helped me clear my dungeons.

Honestly, having over a hundred voidlings of my own creation tag along with me to each dungeon made the dungeons rather easy to clear. Not to mention the dungeon’s supposedly weaker bosses.

Come to think of it, I wonder how my own dungeon is doing?

That thought briefly comes to mind as I walk to the city to ask if there are any other dungeons nearby. Only to find that the remaining ones are all currently occupied by voidlings. So I can’t challenge another dungeon right now.

That’s a pity.

I could technically go to another user’s System City, like Ali or Akira’s cities, and enter dungeons there. But that feels wrong to do. Unless they specifically need help with clearing a dungeon, that is.

After hearing that Rex is currently inside of a dungeon, making it impossible to speak with him about any recommendations for purchase from the Event Store – since I have just as many Event Points as I have Victory Points – I head over to my suite. Then I just lie down while letting my voidlings do whatever they please within the city.

Although my general stays with me to stand guard outside of my suite’s door despite me telling it that it can relax.

And not even a full ten minutes after I sit down to relax, a System Message appears in my vision.

◊ Congratulations! Your dungeon has broken, releasing the monsters within to attack the nearest System City! ◊

◊ Footage review is now available for this dungeon, and the attack on the System City outside of it! ◊

Oh?

I go ahead and open the new menu.

Recorded Dungeon Footage

Live Footage

◊◊◊◊◊

I go ahead and open the Recorded Dungeon Footage menu, only to find a large screen appearing in front of me with some sort of fast forward and rewind button at the bottom. Meanwhile the screen itself shows a dark forest at night as seen from the sky. But I quickly find that I can control it with just a thought to move where I want it to move.

So I begin to watch the footage for a while. Just witnessing how the first group ends up slaughtered down to just a single tigerkin.

It is interesting to see another species I haven’t seen before. And this one is like the ratkin. Specifically how they’re like humanoid animals.

Tigers who are humanoid, walk on two legs, have arms and legs, and talk like people. It’s just that they have fur all over their bodies, a tiger-shaped head and mouth, fangs in said mouth, and paws instead of hands.

I am a little interested in whatever power he used to somehow just teleport to the entrance of the dungeon while the others were dying. And, judging how the others in his group were treating him, I’m not all that surprised he ditched them at the last minute.

Even taunted them while doing it.

I begin to fast forward through other attempts at the dungeon by the enemy planet’s users for a bit before frowning when an achievement rings out.

◊Galaxy-Wide Achievement◊

Zelbar Xch’tlia’rial has become the first user in the Aqua Galaxy to destroy a System Building during an Assault. Therefore, she will receive a special System Demolitions Title and unlock a Legendary System Building for their Galaxy-Wide Achievement.

◊Galaxy-Wide Achievement◊

Well, shit.

Isn’t that the Third Ranked user on the Galaxy-Wide Leaderboards?

I was hoping that achievement would go to me. Rex already told me about it and I kind of assumed it would be mine since no one has claimed it and I have my boss on my side.

Although, I guess my boss is technically more of a support monster? Not a direct combat monster?

Its main focus is breeding more blightlings, after all.

With that thought in mind, I close out of the recordings before opening the live footage.

Let’s see how close I am to destroying the city. Because I know there’s another Galaxy-Wide Achievement for being the first to destroy a System City during an Assault.

And this one has better rewards than the first to destroy a System Building.

Oh can't wait to see how fast the city goes down!

Hmm, I feel like this might be where having pacifist mode on could be a problem
