Alexia

After several hours of testing, I learn quite a few things about my new skills.

Wavefunction Collapse, for example, seems to only be able to force an outcome if the chances of that outcome are high enough to occur. So generally, as long as it has a higher than like twenty-five percent chance of happening normally, I can force it to happen using energy. With the lower the percentage chance of it happening normally, the higher the energy cost for forcing it.

Also, I can technically force lower chance outcomes to happen, but those outcomes have a chance for the skill to fail.

Which would be fine if it didn’t still cost me the energy required to use the skill. But since it still uses up my energy even with a failure, and that energy cost is rather massive for a single skill, it’s not quite so fine.

The energy cost also rises exponentially after dropping beneath the twenty-five percent chance range.

Then there’s Entanglement Severance. This skill is incredibly useful and can completely stop targets from affecting their own bodies with buffs or heals or anything else of the sort.

Kind of like what the Quantum Enforcer was doing to me, with his stopping me from healing with time magic.

Except that this is more all-encompassing, and has a smaller effect at the same time.

More general in usage, but not as strong.

It’s still very useful, though. And it’ll probably work quite well against stronger opponents.

Whether it’ll work on the Corrupted One himself, though, is something I’ll have to find out in the future. But it should at least have a decent shot at affecting him if I bring it to Ascendant Tier.

Next up is Potential Reaping. It’s a skill that pretty much lets me steal a beneficial action the target is about to make.

If they’re about to dodge my attack, the skill makes it so I dodge their next attack and they don’t dodge mine. Or any other beneficial action like that.

It doesn’t let me choose what action to steal, though. Which could be an issue if it ends up making me reap an action I don’t actually want to do.

At the very least, the skill does decide for me if it’s beneficial or not. So it won’t put me in any danger.

I wonder if the skill will let me pick and choose actions to steal when it levels up more?

And the last one amongst the new active skills is Causality Severance.

It’s a little similar to Entanglement Severance, just that it only affects one power or skill. And it’s significantly more effective in stopping that one completely.

So if one is a multi-target, this one is a single-target. Albeit with that multi-target still being limited to certain areas. Specifically things that affect their own self. While this single-target isn’t limited at all to what it can target specifically.

For the passive skills, The Reaper increases my stats by tiny fractions of a decimal for every death I witness. Not just the ones I kill myself, but every death I witness. While Potential Harvest builds up a backlog of energy for every kill I make. With said energy beginning to dissipate a few minutes after I am no longer making any kills.

Soul of the Reaper is a passive effect that simply makes it so I no longer get paralyzed, so there’s no real need to test it. Although it might be difficult to level it up, considering how hard it is to bring my soul down to zero nowadays.

Maybe I can get another Quantum Being to keep my soul down to zero for training?

I’m not quite sure what leveling the skill will do to it, but it should be beneficial.

And Quantum Superimposition just pretty much negates an attack once in a blue moon. Which is very helpful depending on my luck.

I purse my lips while looking at the approaching corrupted creatures as a possible combination comes to mind.

Maybe I can combine Quantum Superimposition with Wavefunction Collapse to try and force the skill to activate on a specific attack? That could be very useful.

Overall, these new skills are all incredibly good. A lot better than several of the skills I was using before.

Also, I realize during my testing that I’m just a lot stronger now than before. Seemingly partially due to completing my core, and partially due to all of the levels I got from the two Quantum Beings I killed.

Which number quite a bit.

At this point, I’m by far the highest level user in the System. Since the other Quantum Beings aren’t in the System.

I also can’t help but notice some rather uncomfortable gazes looking at me when I started wiping out the corrupted creatures. Gazes very different from what I’m used to.

Normally the regular mortal users all look at me with fear. But now? Now I see reverence and awe in their gazes.

What’s worse?

There are even some who have looks of worship in their eyes. Looks that, in all honesty, send a chill down my spine.

If these people are planning on worshiping me like some goddess, I would very much rather have them fearing me again. Because that sounds like a nightmare.

Maybe I can shove the other Quantum Beings in front of them to show them that I’m not quite so special? Or to maybe get some of them to worship the other Quantum Beings instead?

Then again, I think the other Quantum Beings actually do have some religions founded around them… It’s just that the religions are around Quantum Beings in general and not specific ones.

Seeing as most people don’t know what each specific role holding Quantum Being looks like or can do. For the most part.

Well, it could work regardless.

Or at least, I hope it does.

I let out a sigh at that thought before beginning to make a plan for the fastest method to level up all of my skills. Because I’m going to have to do this as fast as possible to bring my skills up to Ascendant Tier by the time the Corrupted One recovers.
