And this is the final chapter of Reaper's Resurgence, marking my second completed series.

I hope you all enjoyed Reaper's Resurgence :)

I might make some bonus chapters at some point, but this is the end of the main story at the very least.

Also, I'll be taking tomorrow off of writing since I spent all of today writing, including the chapters I planned for tomorrow.

I hope you all have a great rest of your night!

Alexia

Things begin to clean up rather well over the course of the months following the end of the Corrupted One. The System works together with several of the surviving Quantum Beings to clean up the universe, bringing it back up to tip top shape without a shred of corruption left behind. And thanks to that, plenty of users begin to leave the Dimensional Grid to go settle on planets within the universe again.

Many of which have all been repaired by the Quantum Builder.

Meanwhile the System itself spreads fully to every inch of the universe. Although it was already largely spread that far thanks to the power it obtained from the core of the Universe’s Will.

During the move, the Dimensional Grid began to completely unify. Turning into a single large power merging every force in the Dimensional Grid who didn’t want to move. Eventually creating more of a single Dimensional Block instead of an entire grid of them.

Then again, they’re still separated out into different biomes in the shape of a grid, even if the walls between them are gone. So I guess it can still be considered a grid.

Everyone in the Grid also decided to make a council that included most of the people in the main council for the Dimensional Grid as members, with people from Dimensional Block #108 as the highest ranking members of the council. And me being the chairwoman for some reason.

Even if I’m just there as a figurehead since I saved the universe and all.

Fortunately, since I’m just a figurehead, I don’t actually have to do anything. It is a council after all.

Things are decided by vote and not by some single leader.

Astrid did join the council, though, along with Ethan and his parents and my Dad.

Mom didn’t join the council because she didn’t want to deal with politics and just wanted to relax after all of these years being on the run. And I’m just relaxing all of the time now since I don’t have to worry about anything anymore.

As for the Quantum Beings?

They’re all off doing their own thing.

Their jobs have gotten significantly easier now that the corruption is out of the picture. Especially the Vanguard and Cleaner.

The last time I saw the Cleaner, he was having the time of his life playing videogames all the time.

I’ve even played some games with him a few times.

Which is a rather large change from how we were when we first met.

I can’t help but smile at that thought as I look out from the balcony connected to my room in my little mansion at the night sky above The Retreat’s main island. An island that is also the capital of the entire Dimensional Grid.

“Mom!” I hear Luna shout, making me look up to find her flying down in her humanoid form with bat wings on her back. All the way until she lands on me with a hug. “I’m back!”

“Welcome back,” I tell her with a chuckle while glancing in the air to find Sol – Astrid’s owl companion – flying down while holding both my niece and nephew, who are ten years old now. “And you three as well.”

“Aunt Lexi!!!” both of the twins exclaim at once while struggling to break free of Sol’s grip, only to fail miserably and pout at the owl. But the owl doesn’t budge until he reaches the ground and lets them go after their feet touch the ground.

The twins look like copies of Astrid. Which is hilarious sometimes when I see Ethan complaining, questioning whether his genes were completely skipped over or something. Since they don’t have a single thing in their appearance that looks like him.

Although their elements are split between Astrid and Ethan.

My niece, Alexandra – whose name was chosen since it has similarities to Alexia and often goes by Alexa instead of her full name – has Ethan’s hellfrost element, while my nephew, Drake, was named after a relative on Ethan’s side. And while both of them are half dragon, and half hydra, neither have grown in their wings yet. Which is apparently something that happens for dragons when they hit around thirteen years old. So Sol has to fly them around places.

Or rather, they beg him to, and he gives in to get them to be quiet.

Both twins rush over to jump on me and Luna at the same time, making Luna grumble, “I was here first!” Which just makes them stick out their tongues at her and causes more arguing despite Luna looking several years older than them.

Then again, she is technically a bat. So maybe her current childlike maturity around family is from that.

I smile at their bickering before looking up when I sense Astrid and Ethan arriving.

“Thank you for this,” Astrid says with a gentle smile. One that’s much gentler than she used to show regularly before the Reset.

“No problem,” I tell her with a smile, genuinely happy that she’s gotten so much happier nowadays. “Just enjoy your time together.”

Ethan smiles as well, which is still a little difficult to get used to. Seeing him smile like that. One full of affection.

“If you ever need anything, just ask,” he says with a nod. Then the two go off on their replacement honeymoon.

They didn’t really get to have a real comfortable honeymoon after getting married before thanks to the whole ‘Corrupted One’ thing. So they’re making up for it now.

And I’m left babysitting their kids and Sol. Albeit with Mom here too.

Speaking of Sol, the owl hops over to me and lowers his head a little.

I chuckle as I understand exactly what he wants now after seeing him doing this so many times. But right as I’m raising my hand to pet him on the head, Luna grabs my hand and moves it to her head instead while glaring at the owl.

Sol just stares back at her before she exclaims, “I won’t lose this time!”

I raise a brow at her words since she loses every single time they try to do a staring contest.

Or, rather, every time she tries to do one. Sol is just staring as he normally does.

He stares a lot.

Is it because he’s an owl?

Probably.

I lift the kids up with quantum energy before placing them on their feet as I say, “Go on inside and wash up. Your grandmother is making pasta for dinner tonight.”

All three of them immediately rush inside with cheers at that despite Luna. Although I don’t blame them.

And I don’t even have to nor generally enjoy eating.

Who would’ve thought Mom would be such a good cook?

Because she is an incredible cook. Even though she only found out she had that talent after the war against the corruption.

An event that has now been catalogued into history as the ‘Corruption War’.

I let out a sigh as I remember how exactly I was described in the war. Specifically as some sort of goddess saving everyone in the universe.

Unfortunately, that Corruption War led to the stupid Followers of the Reaper religion growing massively in scale at a rapid pace. Despite me really wanting to tear that place down.

But not only would that be cruel, it would also probably make people afraid of me again. And I guess I do prefer their worship over their terror.

It’s just too bad I can’t go with neither.

I look out at the night sky with a sigh of regret at that. Only to narrow my eyes when I notice something with my senses in the Quantum Realm. So I glance at the kids walking down the stairs before telling Sol that I’ll be back and leaving the mortal realm to enter the Quantum Realm while entering my True Form. Where I soon arrive at the Ruler, or rather, Veltorius’ throne room.

He keeps telling me to call him by his name or call him by Grandpa nowadays. And since I still don’t care much for the latter, I’ve been trying to grow used to calling him by his name instead of the Quantum Ruler. But it’s not very easy.

Anyway, when I arrive, I find both him and Zal in the throne room looking at a large sphere in the center of the chamber.

The very thing I sensed that brought me here. It’s also got a trace of the tiny soul I saw slipping out of the Corrupted One while it was being purified.

I glance at the Rul- at Veltorius as I ask, “Is that him?”

He nods his head with a bright smile on his face. Meanwhile the sphere at the center of the chamber pulses once. Then twice.

Then the outer layers of the sphere begin to dissolve, revealing a single being who I recognize from the Quantum Ruler’s trial. Albeit in a young form. Probably like five or six years old.

He’s even wearing the same clothes, albeit in miniature size.

Reincarnation maybe? Or does he still have his memories?

I watch with a smile as Veltorius slowly approaches him with more than a little hesitation, only for the boy to open his eyes. At which point he immediately smiles and says, “Brother…”

Looks like he does have his memor-

“Why… am I calling you that?” he asks with a frown and a slight tilt of his head. Then he looks down and squints as if trying to figure it out.

Never mind. He doesn’t have his memories.

“You’re right, you are my brother,” Veltorius says before hesitating a moment. But it’s just for a moment. After that, he rushes forward and hugs the boy. “You are my brother.”

The boy’s eyes look confused for a second, only for them to begin reddening. And within seconds, he begins to cry while muttering, “Why… am I crying?”

I can’t help but feel a little emotional myself to see this. I can’t imagine how it must have felt being locked in his own body while corruption drove him around destroying everything for years.

Maybe him losing his memory might be a mercy in a way, or maybe not.

It’s not my family to experience it with, interfere with, or think about. They can work through that pain together.

I have my own family to return to.

With that thought in mind, I leave them be and return to my own mansion, deactivating my True Form in the process of landing on my balcony.

After taking a deep breath in order to calm down from that emotional scene, I look up at the night sky, and the two moons hanging within it. Both of which I’m used to seeing now.

They’re so beautiful hanging up there.

I didn’t really think this back then, but I do now.

Maybe the Corruption War made me sappy or something.

Either way, I find myself smiling at both the sight of the moons high in the sky, and hearing Mom call out, “Lexi! Food’s ready!”

I’ve claimed my peace.

Now to enjoy it.

I turn around and begin walking back into the manor again while calling back, “Coming!"

Glad to see you tied up that one bit at the very end properly, but still left it open for bonus chapters to expand upon it, if you so choose to (but at the same time, it's definitely not a necessity, lol). Also, thanks for the hard work on another lengthy but great series~ ^^
