NathanYear 2853 | Month 6 | Day 24
“The first item of the day is this Pure Mana Injection syringe!” the host begins while waving towards the small pedestal next to her that opens up to reveal a syringe filled with a glowing golden-blue liquid. “This Pure Mana Injection was synthesized by the Spirit Ruler and the Alchemist working together, and it is one of the only Warrior enhancements that is capable of enhancing a magician into a Warrior! Yes! You heard right! The Alchemist has figured out a way to enhance magicians with the help of the Spirit Ruler, using the help of spirit magic!”
Whispers begin to fill the hall at the news, with quite a few people looking more than a little shocked. But I don’t really feel much at the news.
The main reason Warriors have managed to carve out their own place in society equal to magicians is because of the inherent weakness of magicians. That being their physical strength.
Except for enhancement affinity magicians, of course.
If a Warrior gets close to a magician, it’s generally over for the magician. Although the magician can often strike back before they’re taken down, badly hurting or even killing the Warrior in a tradeoff. But that also varies by what stage the Warrior is at.
There are seven stages of a Warrior’s advancement, with each stage being named simply after the number of its stage.
First Stage Warrior, Second Stage Warrior, and so on. All the way to a Seventh Stage Warrior.
The higher the stage of the warrior, the stronger their physical strength and body are, and the more expensive the materials necessary for them to advance further.
Theoretically, there should be an Eighth Stage as well, but no one has ever reached it before.
Anyone who has attempted the advancement has died. Which is another major issue with the Warrior advancement system.
It’s dangerous.
A failed advancement often leads to death.
After all, unlike with magicians who are just making spells and increasing the number of mana arcs in their body, the Warriors are directly altering their own body and their genes. And that can go wrong very easily.
I’ve done a couple of experiments before, and my own physical strength thanks to my being a vampire is around the level of a Fourth Stage Warrior. And each stage advancement of the Warrior system increases their physical strength and durability by a factor of two. So a Seventh Stage Warrior could crush my head with their bare hands.
That said, there is only a total of two Seventh Stage Warriors across the entire planet. And there are only a couple dozen Sixth Stage Warriors as well.
As for Fifth Stage Warriors?
There are hundreds of those. They often become major representations of power between nations. The number of Fifth Stage Warriors they have.
Just like how Class S magicians are a representation of power for the nations as well.
It’s just that the Class S magicians tend to be the more nuclear representation, while the Fifth Stage Warriors are more general representations.
Sixth Stage Warriors are a bit more nuclear, though. Just like the Class S magicians.
As for the two Seventh Stage Warriors? One of them is a member of the Empire, while the other is neutral and isn’t part of any nation.
I kind of want to set up some sparring matches with a few higher stage Warriors. They should work well for increasing my combat training.
Unfortunately, my combat training with the sword has stalled thanks to the lack of opponents that can keep up with my physical strength and speed.
I frown at the thought before refocusing on the auction below as everyone begins to bid frantically for the injection. No doubt wanting to turn one of their magicians into a Warrior.
After all, there is a huge difference between a Class S magician and a Class S magician who is also a Warrior.
The current bid rises all the way from the starting bid of one hundred million credits, to one billion credits, and then further to one and a half billion credits. Which is enough to build an entire Magic Tower. More than enough, in fact.
And it’s still rising.
“It looks like a lot of you want this syringe,” the host suddenly says with a sweet smile spreading across her face. “How about I tell you another little detail about this old thing?”
Almost everyone in the hall seems to react in some way as they focus entirely on her words. Clearly wanting to hear this detail she’s about to mention.
“This injection has been tested, and it can turn a magician into a Warrior without any effect on their mana,” she says, pretty much repeating what she said earlier. But when she adds more after that, silence fills the hall. “And the transformation will only take a couple days!”
After the silence lasts for several seconds, the bidding on the injection increases once again. Pushing the price all the way up to two billion credits in no time.
Wow… they really want this injection.
I can kind of understand it, though, considering how much easier combat became after I became a vampire and got superhuman strength. But this is a massive fortune.
This is more money than the Eternal Continents currently has to spend total. And that’s including all of the funds that have been assigned already.
At this rate, if it weren’t for the major side effects that don’t really affect me much thanks to the space-time mana in my body, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of these magicians would jump at the chance to become a vampire.
The side effects are probably too much for them, though.
The loss of control, the bloodthirst, and all that.
I’m just not effected by the loss of control since the bloodthirst doesn’t ever build up, and I never get very hungry.
The bidding continues all the way until the item finally sells for a total of two billion one hundred ten million credits. And it’s sold to one of the VIP booths on the same level as me at that.
Now, who exactly it was sold to, I’m not sure. But it was sold to one of the biggest players in the room, at least.
Following the selling of the injection, another item begins to rise up onto the stage to replace it.
Continuing the auction.
