Ashley
Since there are still weeks left until the Domain breaks after setting up my sphere of ice, I sit in the sphere for entire weeks just letting the Gaze of Destruction build up power within the time locked ice. All while the Void God continues to stare at me with its disturbing gaze, not budging even an inch. Which doesn’t surprise me, considering that there isn’t anything else in the Unique Domain other than the two of us.
I already killed all of the monsters, with maybe just a couple straggler exceptions. So there isn’t anything else for the Void God to do besides wait for me to get out of this sphere.
Throughout my entire time in the sphere, I can’t help but feel anxious about the war going on. The one on Val. But I can’t do anything about it from here, and I can tell just from what I sense in the Void God that it has far more energy than I have.
Still. Over the duration of my time sitting in this sphere, I also manage to figure out a few other things about the monster.
For one, it reminds me of an insect.
Not very smart, seemingly territorial since it does actually attack any monster that gets anywhere nearby, and very reactive. The thing doesn’t even look at the other monsters nearby either, so it seems to hold a grudge.
It almost reminds me of a bee in a way. Or a wasp.
Or at least, I think those are similar.
I’m not exactly an expert in bugs, after all.
Then again, the thing already looks like a draconic insect of some sort. So maybe it being bug-like fits.
What’s more is that the Void God never takes its eyes off of me, nor does it move its tentacles during the entire time I’m in the ice sphere. Even when other monsters approach, the Void God merely sends out a wave of black fog that immediately crushes their minds. Leaving said monsters dead without any signs of physical damage.
When I move a little, its massive compound eyes follow me. No matter how small the movement. And it is incredibly creepy having those massive compound eyes staring at me all day and night for weeks without any breaks.
I take in a deep breath before letting it out again.
The Void God’s energy stores are massive, but I should be able to win with all of this destructive energy built up in the time lock. It is weeks’ worth of staring, after all.
It would be stranger if it didn’t deal a lot of damage.
With that thought in mind, I begin to prepare numerous other attacks. Most of which use the Eternal Snow for the True Damage.
Then I finally release the Chrono Lock, sending a massive wave of blood-colored crimson energy rushing at the Void God. Meanwhile the Void God reacts by controlling black fog to rush and clash with the crimson energy. But the crimson energy is too dense and pierces straight through it to crash into the Void God itself.
On top of that, the totems start to work again, leading the black fog released by them to attack the Void God alongside my own additional Eternal Snow attack in the form of a massive blizzard.
Leo also jumps out of the little storage chamber that my Eternal Companion skill gives me and sends out a wave of its own Eternal Snow to join my attack.
I make sure to control the sphere of ice I’m in to move far away from the Void God as fast as possible. Not even bothering with waiting to see the outcome of all the attacks before doing so.
A screech echoes across the void around us as the enormous monster clearly feels massive pain from everything. And the different types of True Damage battering away at the Void God at a single time finally breaks its obsessive stare as the various eyes in its compound eyes tremble.
Through the blizzard, I watch on as the Void God’s eyes rapidly begin to deteriorate. And the rest of its head isn’t much better as the snow merges into its flesh and scales, and begins to kill off its flesh. Although its scales last a bit longer.
Honestly, this monster is already disgusting, and now it’s growing even more disgusting to look at.
It doesn’t take long before the Void God begins its mental attacks again. Instantly making my head feel like its splitting. With numerous System Messages beginning to flow as well.
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 29/30 charges remaining.}
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 28/30 charges remaining.}
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 27/30 charges remaining.}
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 26/30 charges remaining.}
…
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 20/30 charges remaining.}
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 19/30 charges remaining.}
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 18/30 charges remaining.}
{You have used up one charge of Chaotic Source! The True Damage has now been redirected! 17/30 charges remaining.}
What’s more is that the messages are flying by faster than before. Proving that the Void God is putting in a lot more power into its black fog now than ever before.
I feel genuine gratitude towards the Primordial of Virtue for the Steadfast Heart skill. Because I would be done for by now without it.
Even with it I still feel so much pain that it feels like my head is splitting open. All from the non-True Damage mental attacks this thing is launching.
Just how many mental attacks does this thing even have, anyway?! I can’t even count how many places I’m feeling these attacks coming from. Almost like I’m being hit by dozens of attacks at once.
Unless…
My eyes narrow as a possible power comes to mind.
Unique Lifeforms always have only one hundred potential skills, with this one having that same number judging by its identify result. Except me, of course.
There’s no way this thing already has more than several skills unlocked.
I’ve seen some skills like it in other void monsters found in the Unique Domain. Skills that split the user’s mind to use numerous attacks at once.
It even lets the same user or monster use the exact same single-target skill multiple times simultaneously.
Considering that this is the Void God, the Unique Monster Boss of this Unique Domain, I’d be shocked if it didn’t have a powered up version of this skill. So it may just be activating the same mental attack dozens of times with its mind split.
I feel the pain in my mind continuously increasing as more attacks begin flying at me at the same time. But there is one consolation. Specifically that the Void God is taking massive damage from all of the attacks I’ve sent its way. Proving that the Void God’s physical defenses are lower to no doubt make up for its incredible mental power.
With that in mind, I keep sending more blizzards of Eternal Snow its way alongside Leo, who is also taking mental attacks.
Fortunately for me, Leo shares a lot of my skills. Including my mental defenses.
Otherwise there’s no way I would ever let Leo out to fight alongside me in this battle.
I try to make barriers around Leo and I, but none of them do anything to block the mental attacks. Even when I move further away while still attacking the Void God, the mental attacks keep coming.
The Void God just gets closer as well, with its mental attacks also proving to have immense range.
Bringing this battle to a complete battle of who can last the longest under the other’s barrage.
And I swear it will be me.
