NathanYear 2853 | Month 6 | Day 25
The day after the auction’s first part ends, the Melcians activate the Inter-Continental Transport Portal connecting the three major nations of the Alliance. Setting the destination to be the Empire, where the tournament is located.
And the moment I pass through the portal to enter the empire, I find myself inside of a large hall. One filled with servants on each side of the hall.
I can’t help but frown a little at the sight.
Why are-
My thoughts are interrupted when the representatives from the other top nations and the Magic Towers pass through moments after me, with the order of entry being the top booths of the auction going downwards. At which point the representatives all look incredibly nauseous.
I blink at that before seeing them all waving their hands at the servants that quickly begin moving towards us. Almost as if saying that they don’t need their help.
Is this normal? Why is everyone getting sick?
Crimson looks mostly fine though as he looks around with some faint amusement on his face. And when he notices my confusion, he walks over to me and explains, “Inter-Continental Teleportation is extremely harsh on the human biological system. Even Sixth Stage Warriors feel at least a little nauseous during the teleportation process, so there are always people stationed at the other side to handle the aftermath.” He glances back at the portal, then at me again. “I would suggest getting further away from the portal now.”
Right. Okay.
That makes sense.
Inter-Continental Teleportation is transporting someone across the ocean to another continent. And this particular teleportation is teleporting us almost halfway across the planet in a single instant.
It would be more weird if it didn’t have any side effects.
I’m probably just not affected by those side effects because of either my immortality, or my own space mana. So I’m not feeling nauseous whatsoever.
As for why he suggests getting further away, and is already moving himself? That much is obvious.
I quickly follow him to arrive at the other end of the hall, past some sort of barrier that seems to block scents from passing through it. And mere moments later, the next layer of people from the auction pass through the portal.
Then a wave of vomiting proceeds to pass through them as over half of them start vomiting. With the servants in the room rushing to help.
Yep. This was why he suggested we get away from there.
And I have to say, this scent barrier is a life saver. I can’t imagine how bad it would’ve been for someone with my senses to be anywhere near that.
On a side note, I can’t help but glance at Crimson as I ask, “How were you able to ignore the effects?”
He answers without even looking at me, keeping his eyes on the vomiting magicians and Warriors, “Controlling the body’s functions is a basic maneuver for a blood magician.”
Interesting. I knew he was powerful, but I didn’t know he was that skilled at controlling every part of his body.
I’ve done research on blood magicians. Most of the blood magicians in history have ended up accidentally killing themselves due to their experiments in controlling their own bodies.
It might seem like a simple process, but every small change they make to their blood and interior system can cause major quakes that ripple throughout their entire body. So they need an immense understanding of their own body, along with extreme control to do something like that.
And this is even more advanced as he is controlling his system to maintain its equilibrium during the teleportation process.
He really is the only magician known to have a possible chance of reaching Class SSS.
Or, at least, before I came around. Now people are saying I also have a chance of reaching it in the future. Simply because of my immortality.
All other magicians will die of old age long before reaching it, with Crimson being the only exception due to his immense talent and his blood affinity increasing his lifespan.
But even Crimson is still far from Class SSS due to the mana capacity requirement. A requirement that is sky high.
After doing some research, a magician needs about fifteen thousand mana arcs to be considered Class SS, unlike the three thousand needed to be considered Class S. And to be considered Class SSS, a magician is required to have fifty thousand mana arcs.
It’s just that no magician has ever reached Class SSS except for the Chronos. Since the Chronos are always time affinity magicians who will never age and have all of time to grow.
I can’t help but wonder if Crimson will be the first non-time affinity magician to reach Class SSS.
Anyway, the two of us sit outside of the barrier watching as the different auction attendees arrive in the hall before vomiting one after another. With the arrivals leading to more and more vomiting the later they arrive, since they’re generally weaker the later they arrive.
While watching, I can’t help but turn my attention to the teleportation device itself. Since I kind of want to study it.
Maybe I can make my own.
I’ll have to figure out what all affinities it uses. If it just uses space mana, then I might be able to make one.
If it uses more than just space mana, it’ll depend on what other affinities of mana it uses. Whether I have those affinities, or if I can get assistance from magicians with those affinities.
Unfortunately, I’m too far away right now to properly study it. Especially with the sense barrier between me and it.
And there’s no way I’m walking past the sense barrier right now, when the place is filled with vomiting people.
I shiver at the thought as I continue studying what I can about the device from here. Ignoring the vomiting people in the process.
All the way until the last person passes through the portal, and the Spirit Ruler steps up to the front of the hall to speak.
