All Across the Universe
Silence spreads everywhere the moment Ashley’s eyes go blank and she collapses, showing signs of complete mental collapse. A condition where one’s mind is completely shattered by mental attacks. And one equivalent to death.
At the same time, the Void God freezes solid with parts of it occasionally flaking off and dissipating into the Eternal Snow. Turning it into an extremely slowly disappearing statue of ice.
A statue that isn’t moving whatsoever.
Before anyone watching can feel anxious or upset about what appears to be Ashley’s death, Ashley’s body suddenly begins to change as one hundred new potential skills are added to her identify result. Showing everyone watching that she has slain the Void God, and that the System still considers her alive.
Whether it’s her fans watching, the people across the eight planets fighting in the war, or even the Primordials, no one takes their gazes off of her. Especially when she herself begins to transform a little.
Her eyes, which were wide open despite her shattered mind and lack of consciousness, begin to lose their whites as a pitch black darkness spreads from the outside of her eyes all the way to the crimson of her eyes of destruction. Then numerous black tentacles rimmed with a faint blood crimson glow begin stretching out from various parts of her body before going back into her body.
And they don’t do it just once but instead numerous times.
The tentacles all have pitch black scales, with some of them having patches of flesh on the scales just like the Void God, while others don’t. Meanwhile a black fog begins to rise from her skin to fill the area around her, leaving her presence ominously glowing through her crimson eyes, the tentacles, and her usual crimson and pale blue lines shown through her clothes. But despite all of this, Ashley continues to stare dead-eyed ahead without any signs of waking up.
Then a notification spreads across the entire universe.
Primordial System Notification
Attention all users of the universe.
The Successor of Chaos, also known as the Queen of Destruction and Tigress of Eternal Snow, has officially assimilated the skills of the Void God. Therefore the System is now declaring the user, Ashley Sinclair, as obtaining a new Unique Title.
As the Void Goddess.
Despite the notification, the new Void Goddess doesn’t gain any light in her eyes. She just continues floating in place staring dead ahead while tentacles burst out of her skin and return again.
A tense silence fills all those watching, only for the livestream to come to an end now that the Unique Domain is cleared. Leaving everyone wondering what will happen to Ashley.
Everyone except for the Primordials, all of whom can tell just from a glance that Ashley will recover. Simply because she has both mind healing skills passively healing her mind while her Resolution of Order keeps her alive.
The Primordial of Virtue, who is the second most talented Primordial in the areas of the mind, can already see her mind very slowly beginning to patch itself together.
All of the Primordials breath a sigh of relief except for the Primordial of Chaos, who collapses as all of the strain and worry filling him evaporate in an instant, and the Primordial of Void, who looks like she expected this outcome from the very beginning.
None of the Primordials want a war, after all. Especially not a war between Chaos and Nyx, both of whom would cause enormous damage to uninvolved bystanders just from battling.
Nyx’s appearance in the universe alone could shatter the minds of millions even before any battle took place.
However, the ones who are the most worried aren’t any of them or Ashley’s fans.
They’re the users from Val currently fighting in the war. And currently losing at that.
Even the few users who dislike Ashley grow immensely worried. Simply because everyone assumed Ashley would come save them after defeating the Void God.
And yet, now they aren’t certain if she is even still alive. Or if she will be able to come help them should she recover.
The users on the opposing side of the war quickly begin to take advantage of this as their morale spikes upwards and they continue pushing. Eventually winning a couple more Official System War Events while also pushing down the morale of Val with every single day that passes without Ashley awakening.
By the time the fourth Official System War Event of the war between the eight planets begins, nearly every user from Val shows up to the event with their spirits visibly broken. Without anywhere near as much confidence as they had during the first Official System War Event.
However, unlike like the previous Official System War Events, the fourth one, which is in the form of a sky fortress assault event, doesn’t immediately take a dark turn for Val. Simply because the other worlds have already written Val off in the war as a loser. With none of them believing at this point that Ashley will return.
Val, however, doesn’t give up as they leave a single slow open in every event for Ashley to use in case she wakes up. And during this event, the users of Val all fight defensively without ever going heavy on offense.
But, while many users watching the war across the forums believe this to be an act digging themselves an even deeper grave, Blake and the rest of Ashley’s blood relatives all believe it’s the right one to make.
And after two and a half months since the end of the battle with the Void God, a change finally occurs in the fully cleared Unique Domain.
Ashley’s eyes slowly blink once.
Then twice.
Finally, her eyes twitch, and the white color returns to them as she narrows her eyes. Officially regaining consciousness again as a large wave of black fog rushes out from her body to obscure everything around her.
Except for her two glowing crimson eyes and the crimson glow from her wings and the cracks on her body that shine amidst the fog.
Ashley
Well that sucked.
How much time has passed? I’m not actually sure.
I regained consciousness at some point after regenerating my mind again, but my mind was still too fractured to think straight, leaving me just blankly staring ahead with very few thoughts actually crossing my mind. And before that my mind was completely shattered, so I couldn’t think, feel, or see anything.
“You were unconscious for two and a half months,” I hear Chaos’ voice echoing through my mind, surprising me for a moment. Until I remember that I’ve already cleared the Unique Domain. Which means he’s free to enter and exit it as he pleases now.
Wait a second… two and a half months?!
How’s the war going?!
“The users from Val are currently losing the war by a large margin,” Chaos says, sounding like he doesn’t really care about the war. “If you wish to save them, you must act fast.”
A faint smile spreads across my face as I remember how upset he got over my getting trapped in here. Not to mention how he clearly doesn’t care about the war but is still mentioning it because he knows I care.
Anyway, he’s right. I do need to act fast.
With that thought in mind, I focus on the System Messages that appeared after I killed the Void God – whose body is currently still just a giant block of ice.
{You have been granted 10000 Skill Points for killing the Unique Boss Monster of a Unique Domain.}
{You have slain a being while Assimilate is active. You have now unlocked the Skill Tree: Void God} – ERROR – As the user is not the original holder of the Unique Skill Tree, the Skill Tree’s skills shall now change their names to accommodate the new user.
{Processing…}
{You have now unlocked the Unique Skill Tree: Void Goddess}
{You have unlocked a new Unique Skill Tree, therefore the root skill of the Unique Skill Tree, Fog of the End, is now unlocked for your usage.}
Primordial System Notification
Attention all users of the universe.
The Successor of Chaos, also known as the Queen of Destruction and Tigress of Eternal Snow, has officially assimilated the skills of the Void God. Therefore the System is now declaring the user, Ashley Chaos, as obtaining a new Unique Title.
As the Void Goddess.
Fog of the End…
That’s a rather ominous name.
I go ahead and open my Skill Trees before looking for the new one. And what I find is rather interesting as the Skill Tree is a straight up line this time with no branches. Not even a single extra branch.
As for Fog of the End?
{Fog of the End – Passively creates a black fog that deals True Damage to the minds of all those deemed unworthy to look upon the grace of the Void Goddess. This fog will bend perfectly to the will of the Void Goddess and can also be used to alter the Void Goddess’ divine form.}
Okay, that’s a different take on a skill description than what I’m used to…
Then again, the previous Unique Monsters weren’t described as gods, so that’s probably why.
Anyway, I raise my hand to look at the black fog that is being casually emitted from my skin like some passive aura. And without hesitation, I clench my fist, making even more of it burst out of my body to cover every inch of space around me.
Now it’s my turn to use this black fog.
