Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well!!

This piece, which I've titled "Storm" is going to be the exclusive print for the April print club. ♥

I love working in B&W from time to time, and was wanting to paint something a bit emotional. This month's print pack will be Shadowheart themed, and I think I would like to paint something botanical and colorful with orchids and incense smoke for the postcard. Been taking some notes on ideas. Perhaps a little shrine or something like that.

A bit of an angsty write-up below on where I'm at right now artistically...

I am going to be switching my focus a bit here soon to my own characters/projects a bit which is terrifying. I tend to lose quite a lot of followers/supporters when I post my own characters, but the fact of the matter is that there is this incredibly hollow feeling at times I get when working on fanart because I don't own the characters. I put a lot of emotion in my work, and there is a disconnect sometimes where I feel like I can't tell if people are interested in me and my work, or just the characters in the painting.

When I paint Astarion or Shadowheart in particular, I really put a lot of myself into the pieces because I identify with the characters so much. I love them. I'm not sure how obvious it is- I hope it is- that it's more than just "fanart" to me. I've never been super interested in following trends so it felt very lucky that BG3 got as popular as it did and one of my interests actually aligned with something popular for once.

I've always been passionate about weird things, niche things, etc. Vampire the Masquerade (the older editions, not so much V5) and older RPGs like Neverwinter Nights and BG1&2, Planescape Torment, Morrowind, found footage horror movies, obscure self published books, blah blah I'm very Edgy and Cool™. (read: friendless and in my head most of the time)

I will always be doing fanart, that's a fact. I get so moved by media at times my hands ache to paint the characters. Even if I have no time for it I fantasize about painting them instead. So please don't worry about that. I think Astarion is part of my DNA at this point...I will, perhaps pathetically, ask that you give my original stuff a chance, because every character no matter how famous, started out as an OC. Astarion was someone's brainchild that likely started as a few scratched out notes and sketches just as anyone's OC. This extends not just to me, but to any artist you follow. It's so, so scary to branch out from fanart into original works.

Thank you all, as always, for all of your support. It's changed my life and helped me through the roughest struggles imaginable. Hug your loved ones dearly and please be kind to yourself.

~Lily

nite0wl29

I can’t wait to see your OCs 🥰

Maxwell

This is so lovely! And I totally understand your anxiety over focusing more on OCs especially when you put so much emotion into your work! I am very much the same, so I am sending hugs! I for one will be sticking around:)

Amanda

I love your artwork, I see how much emotion goes into your pieces. I can’t wait to see your ocs!!

feyspeaker

Thank you so much. Hugs right back to you, it's crazy just how vulnerable creating art can be. I really appreciate it and send my love in your direction!!!!

feyspeaker

You are always such a sweetheart, thank you. ;A;

feyspeaker

Thank you, Amanda, that really means a lot. ♥♥

Narttu

Astarion brought me here. But you, Fey, and your beautiful work are the reason that I stay. 💜

Amanda

You’re very welcome! :)

Love your work and I’m sooo excited to see your OCs! I definitely became a patron on here because I love your art regardless of what the subject is 🖤

jmaeq

Your artwork makes my heart so, so happy.

feyspeaker

Thank you, that is really kind of you. It means a lot. ;A;

feyspeaker

That just gives me so much encouragement, really. Thank you so much. ♥♥

I understand; I've been making some changes on my own end with my own writing, wanting to focus on my own OCs and get away from others who don't focus on it. I'm looking forward to seeing your original works soon! 🤍

thoughts-of-bear

Holy shit that is so fucking beautiful 😍 and also perfect timing, I just got that cutscene

Xiren

I love that you'll be doing original pieces. ❤️ Your works are gorgeous no matter the subject.

feyspeaker

I wish you the absolute best on your journey- there's something so freeing despite how intimidating it is to focus on an original project. Thank you so much!!

feyspeaker

Thank you so much!! Shadowheart goes through so much. :(

Songbird

Of course I'll give your OCs time and love! I love your work. I'm excited to see more of your original characters. ❤🖤❤

Gorey Kitsune

Headcanon when Shadowheart bathes her hair goes frizzy/curly when its wet 🥹🧜🏻‍♀️

Gorey Kitsune

*gets my giddy excitement when theres a patreon notification*

Gorey Kitsune

Your art is so tattoo worthy I love it no matter who you draw!!

Blodreina

Oh, this gorgeous! The black and white brings such a deep, dark and elegant feeling. I will always follow you Fey! BG3 brought me here but I stay because you make such moving, beautiful pieces. You make absolutely stunning art and I can't wait to see what you do next. Of course with everything, times are tough so I happen to hop in and out of Patreon when I can afford it. However, I can never not support you in someway, you're one of my favorite artists!

Medusa

This is beautiful! I don't even know how to express how unique and touching I find your art. I found you through your Astarion art, but quickly fell in love with your artstyle in itself - whatever you draw 🖤Also: found footage horror is the best?!

Tomato

Thank you for bringing my beloved into such a print, and I can't wait to see what kind of OC content that you bring for us!

Panicat

Incredible! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your your OCs too! Your work is just breathtaking ✨💖

BonneFyre (fka geekychic)

So beautiful! I found you through your BG3 art, but definitely happy to stay around for OCs. Your art is just stunning!

Dexaria

I'm so here for your OC's!!! It's totally understandable to get fatigued from fanart. Art is not meant to be linear - but beautiful, chaotic and unpredictable!

feyspeaker

Thank you so much. ♥♥ What are some of your fave FF movies??

feyspeaker

Thank you so much. ♥♥ I completely understand!!!

feyspeaker

I figured it would be kinda wavy since it's braided all the time, right???

meowlxander

I found you because of Astarion, but I follow you because of your exquisite art style. Keep up the amazing work!! And I will keep adorning my space with your gorgeous art!! ❤️

The Blair Witch Project (1999) is one of my absolute favorites. Paranormal Activity (if it counts). There is also one I always forget the name of: it was a group of people going on a trip with cameras in a van, then ended up in the desert somewhere on this abandoned ranch or something 🤔 What about you? I would love some new tips!

D'Artagnan Wayland

A beautiful piece and the b&w is such a good choice. I'm very much looking forward to seeing your characters again =3

feyspeaker

Paranormal Activity totally counts! Blair Witch is a classic. I know exactly what movie you are talking about but I can't for the life of me remember what it's called either lmao!! My faves are Creep 1&2, Horror in the High Desert 1&2 (the 3rd is coming out literally any day now and I'm so freaking excited), As Above So Below, Grave Encounters, and The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Butterfly Kisses is also really good... Not sure if you've seen any of those, I really like slow burn horror.

Medusa

It's impossible to find aswell, but it was a good one! Creep is really cool, Grave Encounters is also good. I want to check out Poughkeepsie Tapes since I've heard about it. Never heard of Butterfly Kisses or Horror in the High Desert though - will definitely check out! Thanks for tips.

I got this print and the blasphemy astarion card in the mail the other day, I love them!! So beautiful, and such high quality, already framed them. My sister thought shadowheart was a photograph at first cause she's so lifelike! ❤️

feyspeaker

oh wonderful!!!! I'm so happy you like them, and thank you so much. ;A; I always feel like B&W makes my pieces look more hyperrealistic, maybe it's my background in charcoal lol
