CP2077- Johnny Silverhand "Packin'" Sept. Print Club mini (Patreon)

😏I don't know what it is about Johnny Silverhand that inspires me to paint cheeky pieces, but here we go again. I don't really think storing a gun in your waistband is a very safe idea but that's Cyberpunk in a nutshell.
I had to take a lot of funny reference pictures for this. NOT sharing one where I had to stick a surge protector down the front of my pants to figure out how the F fabric would act in in such a situation. I will share one I took wrapping my leather jacket on a pillow and doing the same thing, because what I really needed was a leather reference, and I have NO leather pants myself. I really wanted to exaggerate the gun bulge since it was the point of the whole piece.
I also had to grab a guitar and sling it over my shoulder because I could not for the LIFE of me figure out how a guitar strap would look if it was a lefty guitar, swung back and out of the way like I wanted in the painting. Like, the angle of the strap was giving me a headache without actually acting it out. 😭
I do a lot of this weird reference photography when I can for pieces, especially for specific shapes/things that I can't find a reference for with a few searches. It's usually better to try and photograph something yourself than end up searching forEVER, even if you have to rig something weird up.
Nerdy side note: I know that Johnny is depicted in game as using both his guitar and gun right-handed, but I personally believe that's more due to V's influence on his memory. First of all I'm pretty sure Johnny's augmented arm is literally programmed for him to be shooting with it and not his organic arm because that thing is like a tiny shotgun, and also with the guitar, IDK you just don't see a lot of left handed characters and I wanted to make a point of it for this piece.
I love how sarcastic and dark the world of Cyberpunk is, and I find the satire that weaves throughout the in-game art and worldbuilding bits (like the ads) delightful and terrible in equal measure.
This is the mini print for this month! Will be included in both the main Print Club and the mini print club.
Hope you all are doing well, much love to you all!!
