I have a question
I’ve been doing Pilates three times a week for about a month now. And I noticed one very strange thing. After my workouts - which are always in the morning - I suddenly get a wild craving for beer or wine.
What is wrong with me?
I’ve never had issues with alcohol. In general, the desire to drink comes up pretty rarely. If it does, it’s usually in the evening, with dinner, when I know that a glass of wine will actually taste good with what I’m eating. Beer - maybe on a hot day after a siesta, especially if I sit down to play video games.
But after sport? In the morning? Where is this coming from?
People say alcohol helps escape reality or relax. But after a workout everything should be the opposite, right? The body is awake, warm, cortisol has been released through sweat, endorphins, serotonin, dopamine - all the “good” hormones are doing their job.
So why does my body look at all of that and say: “Nice. Now… beer.”
Is my body-psyche combo simply overwhelmed by this hormonal party and asking for something cold and fermented to calm down?
Very strange magic.
I’m fighting these alcohol cravings and honestly hoping they’ll pass at some point. Because drinking beer at 9 AM after Pilates is… let’s be honest… not very chic. Even for me.
I mean, I’m flexible now, but not “morning beer flexible” 😁
If you’ve experienced something similar - please share your thoughts or experience. I’m genuinely curious what kind of biological joke this is.
