Not long ago Gary sent me a post about “positive overthinking”… sounds ridiculous, right?

But I actually paused and thought about it.

You know my brain. It’s REALLY good at overthinking. Especially here in Mexico, where I have so much quiet time alone and no constant noise around me. I’m basically the CEO of overthinking - luckily I usually talk it out with Gary or my therapist and it passes pretty fast. But still… my brain is always running a marathon.

So I started wondering - is it actually possible to overthink something in a positive way?

Like… take one good thought and spiral it into something even better, and better, and better, until you suddenly catch yourself smiling like an idiot with all 32 teeth showing?

At first I dismissed the whole idea.

And then I remembered the Joe Dispenza meditations I used to do. There’s that part where you imagine yourself as the version of you that you want to become, you imagine what you want to have - and you keep going until you genuinely feel like you already are that person.

And every time I finished those meditations, I’d stand up feeling happy and light, like I’d already lived through everything I was dreaming about… and like a tiny piece of it stayed with me in real life.

So if it’s possible in meditation… it has to be possible outside of it too, right? Because overthinking is basically when you chew on one situation from every angle, build a new thought on top of it, and then fall into the abyss. Which means positive overthinking would be the same thing… but instead of falling into the abyss, you fly straight into the clouds.

Okay...

Either way - I have to try it. Who knows. It’s just a habit. Maybe I can train it in the right direction 😌✨
