There’s a moment in relationships when everything becomes very calm.

Not cold. Not broken. Just… calm.

I keep noticing how often people say that couples become boring with time. Quieter. More home based. Less spontaneous. And I wonder if this is really boredom, or simply comfort finally settling in.

At the beginning, there’s movement everywhere. You want to go out, to explore, to do things. Even doing nothing feels exciting because it’s shared and new. Maybe falling in love gives you extra energy. Energy to move, to act, to stay curious.

Then comfort arrives. You know each other deeply. You feel at home in another body. And the movement slows down. Not dramatically....more like softness turning into stillness.

Sometimes I catch myself wondering if this is how people slowly start living like their parents. Always tired, always busy, always planning something practical. Less space for doing things just because they feel alive.

I don’t see this as a problem. It’s more a question I sit with. Do all couples pass through this phase? Does comfort naturally bring passivity? Or do we simply need to learn how to create movement without relying on butterflies?

I don’t have an answer.

Just this image, and these thoughts around it.

P.S My love - everything is good))) We’re good and I love you deeply. No drama, no hidden meanings. Just me doing my favorite sport - overthinking 🤓💅🏼.....and then turning it into text.
