Esperanza is done with Taito's Extermination schematics. Which system should she work on next?

She will extract the schematics for the chosen system from a donated PCB. This is a step required for a precise FPGA core.

Comments

Everblue

Taito F3 would also be nice.

Simon Taylor

Easily CPS3, my most anticipated core by far

Syro

PGM... Cave for the win 👍

Matthew

Definitely CPS3

fierman

I know CPS3 is popular with the fighting crowd, but the ugly way Dave got burned up on FinalBurn 20 years ago left a bad taste in my mouth. So PGM for me. It has much more interesting games anyway :)

Alex Mandic

Pgm has way more software than cps3

Robin Hertzberg

Ez cps3 SF 3rd strike would be awesome on mister

Repente Repente

NeoGeo CD would be nice too, it have many extras in games

Juan Carlos Pastor (Denymetanol)

Voted cps3 for "warzard" reasons and complete the 2D era of street fighter saga, capcom vs snk series i think is hybrid mixed spin off and second part has more polygon background art.

MoonZ

Love CPS3 for SF3.3 but there's more games on PGM... including great shmups like Ketsui, Espgaluda, DoDonPachi DaiOuJou...

Skutis

Namco Splatterhouse, Led storm, Toki

Devil-Mish

Completing the Capcom arcade library on Mister with CPS3 would be an absolute dream come true

Jose Luis Sánchez

Pgm:, more games, cps3 already played the 6 to exhaustion

Niklas Lindström

I would love to see some work done in the Sega ST-V domain!

Kasim English

I will donate either 'Splatter House', 'Night Slashers' or 'Undercover COPS' if that can be worked on instead. I do not have the time to decompose the boards myself due to other obligations. Please DM if this is something worth pursuing...

Lucian

PGM has a looot of games! CPS3 can wait longer!

Lionel

CPS3 gets my vote for now, would be stunning to see all those amazing late era Capcom fighters running on FPGA

Holger Lagerfeldt

Buggy Boy (Tatsumi I8086 based) Cabal (TAD 68000 based) Chopper I (SNK Psycho Soldier hardware) Circus Charlie (Konami 6809 based) Flying Shark (Toaplan Twin Cobra) Pac-Mania (Namco System 1) Paperboy (Atari System 2) Pipe Dream (Video System Z80 based) Puzzle Bobble 3 (Taito F3) Rabbit Punch/Rabio Lepus (?) Raiden (Seibu Kaihatsu V30 based) Rainbow Islands (Taito 68000 based) RayStorm (Taito FX-1B) Rolling Thunder (Namco System 86) Splatterhouse (Namco System 1) Tiger Heli (Toaplan Slapfight)

Retro Tuna

PGM has a lot to offer including some cave games

Psykofab

Asterix Konami (I donated you the PCB)

RxMxG

PGM for Cave shooters. If you love SFIII (and Jojo and Warzard), Fightcade have better experience

Raziel

PGM has a some good titles like DoDonPachi DaiOuJou and I wouldn't mind if it won, but having Street Fighter 3 Third Strike on FPGA hardware kind of trumps everything else for me. It's a game I find myself always going back to, and right now, emulation is the only option other than owning the original arcade board. I actually looked at getting a CPS3 board, but my goodness, they are REALLY expensive. I have the Dreamcast version of Third Strike which obviously runs in hardware, but it's also known to be a very inaccurate port. It would be good having the best of both worlds, running in (FPGA) hardware AND being arcade accurate. So for now, my vote is for CPS3. I'm pretty keen to get the final CPS system implemented.

David Moylan

PGM has some interesting games. Would be great to see this come to the MiSTer.

TheGeez

Namco System 1 (Splatterhouse, Dragon Spirit...)

Tuxosaurus

I am voting CPS3 as I stopped searching for an original system because it's too expensive and fragile - and the CD thing is so annoying that you're better off hacking it... which makes it all the more worthy of any conservation project IMO. And yes this would also help switching from Super Turbo to Third Strike at my local ;)

Funkycochise

Rolling Thunder : Namco system 86

FROELIGER

PolyGame Master, CPS3 et more ... ;-)

patreoner

Sega System 32 ;) I want to play Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder :) But I support the development of anything you want to do! Great work!

Carlo Pedrazzini

Both of course, but PGM has much more games. CPS3 is basically just SF3, maybe we can wait a little bit more for that?

Darren Wootton

PGM for DoDonPachi DOJ/Espgaluda/Ketsui would be fantastic

Mike

CPS3 time for 3rd Strike, jojos and red earth! :D

Richard Eng

CPS3 because CPS1+2 is already done. Makes logical sense to complete the trilogy. I'm also guessing that CPS3 is an evolution of CPS2 so it will probably be quicker to implement than PGM???

robinmasters

My graal would be namco system 22 now that the psx core is done

G Foyle

PGM for sure. I could undertand doing CPS3 first, if it wouldn't be a lot of work, but from what I have undertstood, it's not that easy and might take a while to achieve. PGM offers much more games and some definite classics, like those CAVE shoot em ups.

Marc Mouton

PGM and by far, i want to play Demon Front, plus some other great games. CPS3 only has fighting games, very few games and the majority have been ported to console. I understand CPS3 is important in an historical point of view but frankly there is not muchdiscussion here. And it is suppose to be extremly complex...

CorebornCreations

There are still a bunch of emblematic games to tackle (although the game boards are needed of course) such as: Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball-bu Tehkan World Cup (I have a bootleg/joystick arcade board) but it needs some minor repair I think. I would be glad to donate Tehkhan Pinball Action Isn't the core for these 2 Tehkan games already implemented? Also: Twin Cobra Flying Shark Cabal Chopper 1 Toki Just to name a few... I think that PGM and Cps3, although worth pursuing, gameplay wise aren't so appealling to me just because they are "just" improved games imho... Great games nonetheless...

John Ornelas

CPS3 would be so massive for the retro fighting game scene.

Juri Fossaroli

Polygame, cps3 have only a bunch of games, half of them are sf3 variants. I prefear a bigger arcade list for mister 😊

Marc Nuernberger

Would love to see some Data East titles. But I don't know which system they are running on. :-)

AKIBA Valladolid

CPS3! The SF3s community is really looking forward to seeing it!🥰

Andrew Chjerrtyq

Anyone else have to watch Scarlet Sprites video to find out what the PGM was?

PeFClic

Let's go JoJo !

Mat Azel

Cave CV1K if doable

rem

+1 for data east too - would love to see the dual stick support added to Midnight Resistance.

Michael Fuerst

Tempest, Marble Madness or Crystal Castles

MIRO

PGM for espgaluda and ketsui 4sure.

Jedvard

Taito´s Bonze Adventure/Jigoku Meguri

Rune P

There are still big gaps in the older arcade catalogue. I would personally like to see the following games down the road: Elevator Action Splatterhouse Rolling thunder Rainbow Islands Cabal Blood Bros Sky Kid Deluxe But I understand that newer platforms are a huge draw so I’m content to wait and hope. All I can do to drive the process is a bit of financial support after all.

Michael Ghiotti

I would love to see the Raiden series or Taito f3 get some love.

sromero

I voted "other". I prefer "pending" classic boards: Toki, Cabal, Blood Bros, Vendetta, Snow Bros, Sunset Riders, Tumblepop, or even GAELCO games.

Dave Isherwood

While many will shout CPS3, I'd love to see more old school pre 1990's games. Let's see System16 complete with Space Harrier & OutRun, and other gaps filled in.

Andrea Bogazzi

i voted pgm, just for that noisy cps3 wen guy

Serge.EXE

As much as I love CPS3 (not named after its 3 games, not counting versions), I have to give my vote to PGM. Mister would become the undisputed king of Shmup hardware once that hits the platform

fanboy

Mortal Kombat

terminator2k2

pac-land core......forget the rest

Luke Earnshaw

I voted Pgm as there's more that I've never tried on pgm

Matt Postema

4 games vs 30 (including some of the best shooters of all time)? PGM no contest.

kernelchagi

PGM has a lot of good games for the same amount of work. It doesnt make any sense to start CPS3 wich almost only has 3rd strike...

Richard Stephen S.

PGM for sure, so many weird and exotic games on that system i'd love to play plus DoDonPachi II: Bee Storm! Only a handful of games were made on CPS3

Ian Court

CPS3. Analysis may be helpful in terms of developing a ‘desuicide’ solution for real hardware.

Marc SE

WWF Wrestlefest since this pcb isn't working anymore....

AlxUnderBase

PGM , please … CPS3 have very small library !!!

Michael Frank

CPS3: 6 games PGM: 33 games though I'd love to see both eventually, my pick is PGM as there's tons more, plus a variety of genres there besides only fighting games

Dr. Manga

PGM por supuesto. Montón de juegos de Cave como Ketsui

Angela Jones

If you can get 3rd strike on the mister I will never need another game system <3

Diana2Carolina

PGM please, ignore the cps3 for now, better games on PGM.

Jockel

Very difficult choice, but I’d recommend PGM because you get a greater variety of more obscure games. But CPS3 is super hype because of the SF III and Jojo, of course. You can’t lose between these two

RetroRGB

There seems to be something wrong with your auto-correct...none of those choices say Mortal Kombat :) ;p

Peter_A

CPS3 - to complete the CPS series, and because Third Strike is THE best Street Fighter, and best 2D fighter in my book

Richard Thompson

Big fan of cave pgm shmups but sf3 would be more appreciated by the fgc as mister is been used for tournaments now. Also nullobject expressed an interest in the PGM core after he finished his current core.

Amador

I fear that people are blindly voting for CPS, without knowing that PGM supports legendary CAVE games like DoDonPachi DaiOuJou or Ketsui !

Tony Vo

Golden axe 3 revenge of adder

Christopher Sandoval

As a tournament organizer and commentator CPS3 on MiSTer would be a massive luxury not only to complete the cps trifecta but would make playing the legit arcade versions godlike af without the fixes made to their console releases

Niko

I vote PGM, I also think Taito F series would be a great choice too.

ill_deez

PGM! More games, more genres, more fun!

geekmiki

At some point Jotego should have a look at the CAVE 68K core and finish it properly. Nullobject has taken way too many shortcuts, making it a not so accurate core.

TORQUENDB

PGM!! I don't enjoy fighting games at all, so CPS3 is completely useless for me.

joshewah777

Other: Midway T Board for Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 as well as NBA JAM and JAM TE

Lemon

I would much prefer older arcade games like: Splatterhouse (this one would be perfect for Halloween season 🎃) The New Zealand Story Flying Shark Kiki Kaikai Toki Of course the PGM would be awesome CPS3 not interested

Alex Figueiredo

Easily PGM. After that MK1-2 or Killer Instinct.

Thiago Auler dos Santos

CPS3 has only Street Fighter 3 and other two fighting games I’ve never played when I was young. PGM on the other hand has much more games and beat ’em ups… PGM please, CP3 can wait a little longer. ☺️

Kevin Bunch

Gotta go with PGM - those cave shooters and Martial Masters all rule!

Billy

PGM all the way. Dreamcast handles my CPS3 needs quite nicely.

Cory Stargel

Either is a win, but PGM has a wider selection of games.

joseph

(Vote is CPSIII) but my top Games are Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter III, Ninja Baseball Batman, Night Slashers, and Street Fighter The Movie

David Ashby

Voted for CPS3, but I’m hoping some Rockola games like Nibbler and Fantasy could be worked on in the interim while she is making CPS3 schematics.

Photoshop Essentials

Is the MiSTer powerful enough to run Sega's System 32 board? I would love to see Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder. If not, my vote is for PGM. CPS3 only has 6 games.

Sean

PGM just has way more games. I know everyone will want Street Fighter 3, but the sheer number of new games to experience is worth SF3 waiting.

Ryley

CPS3, complete the cycle, also I love third strike :)

Eric

If I could choose both I would. PGM has a great library. But as a huge fan of SF3 I have to go with CPS3. The promise of CPS3 was one of the reasons I got into Mister.

Barry

3rd Strike would be icing on the cake.

Alexander Stieglmayr

I think there are more than enough games in the fighter genre on the mister already I would also like to see more classic games from the pre 90s especially from the shooter area. Raiden 1 and 2 would be a real enrichment also Twin Cobra and Sky Shark. Konami also has another great games for example Juno First, Battlantis, Pandoras Palace (runs on TimePilot hardware), Vulcan Venture, Gradius III, Ajax. Further more Namco games as Pacmania, Rolling Thunder, Dragon Spirit. These games (and many more) are still needed to fill the gap of classical games but of course taste is different.

Jork Sonkinfield

3rd strike is quite possibly the best fighting game of all time, so I would love to see CPS3... but PGM looks pretty cool too. I would also like to see the Mystic Warriors HW get some love some day.

Daniel .

PGM, simply more games(and a lot of good once)

Paul Alvarez II

I'm incredibly excited for CPS3, and I know the fighting game community/tournament organizers would be very happy too. Thank you for all your hard work! ❤️

Alexander Stieglmayr

Forgot Chopper I which is also great classic runs on SNK Psycho Soldier Hardware (such as Guerilla War) great arcade shoother very good stuff for mister

Alarm

PGM for me, CPS3 games are mostly well known and available.

Ronald Dean

MK and NBA JAM. Same hardware. CPS3 is nice but - do we need more street fighter when mk/nba jam/simpsons/and more are not around yet?…

Tulio Adriano

System C and System C2. Schematics for those should be very quick to do! There are many other 68K/Z80 boards that would be interesting such as V-System, and Konami Boards (TNMT, Sunset Riders). 😃👍

Tony Toon

We all know CPS3 is going to win, but I did my part and put in an earnest vote for PGM.

hyp36rmax

Third Strike! Third Strike! Third Strike! CPS3

Aurich Lawson

CPS3 is an important system that’s becoming hard for normal people to acquire. PGM is great but still cheap and available. For that reason alone CPS3 makes sense to me to do first

ojwales

Last time I checked, nobody likes fighting games.

Alexander Stieglmayr

I also want to say a big THANK YOU for all the developers of the cores on Mister the amount of work they put into this who made this possible and also the briliant minds who created this hardware it is a good way to preserve these old classic games which enriched our childhood and is still a part of us. So much better than the new cineastic stuff. Its about the game itself

Hackula

Mortal Kombat!

Phily

PGM, but NBA Jam would be most awesome

Arlieth

CPS3 would be the dream.

Lakeside

Had to throw in a futile PGM vote.

Sanborn

Everyone voting for CPS3 about to get their 19th version of Street Fighter. Change votes to PGM!

J Z

PGM for the variety. CPS3 seems like a lot of work for pretty minimal gain.

bren do

The dream for me is Taito F3 :)

ALFREDO CANAS

CPS3 is nice but it's basically SF3 core since there's a limited set of games. I more interested on PGM but it seems it's way behind in the voting count.

Steven A Rodriguez

Pgm for variety. CPS3 is just for 3rd Strike. Either core working would be great though.

Joe Tassone

Both great boards, CPS3 with 6 fighting games vs. PGM that has over 30 games (consisting of multiple genres). Due to the cps3 security cartridge and suicide battery issue it's a no-brainer on which core should be developed first though.

deathr0w

CPS3 for me even though PGM has more games it's got nothing that lights me up lol

John Silva

Midway board for MK and Nba jam

Yoann Duval

midway T-Unit ( MK /NBA Jam )

Spiff

Taito F3, all the bubble bobble goodness + Gun lock :)

Kimberley Fisher

I’m one of the people that simply desires 3rd Strike.

Carlo Pedrazzini

I voted PGM but Taito F3 too would be great! Anyway, I’m fine with any release order, as long as we get all of them. 😬

Henny Henri

CPS-3 !! to change mafia speculation on ebay

HornheaDD

Between the two I'd say PGM, but I vote Primal Rage - and I will even donate my board!

Jose Perez Sanchez

Realmente me da igual, pero me vendría bien que fuese "Thumble pop"

ZweiGP01

Donpachi is great. But cmon who's gonna pass up third strike?

Donald Hawkins

PGM boards are $100 on eBay all day long

Aaron Solon

I'm a FGC member, became a patron to vote for CPS3 :P Really interested to hear the outcome.

John Klimek

I voted CPS3 but I'm still hoping for a VGM player using all of the sound cores you have written so far. :)

Thorias

CPS3 first but definitely PGM after that...you have a roadmap already... :-)

Edward Doyle

I changed my vote to PGM after researching it. :D

Southy

PGM gets my vote because of the fantastic Cave shoot 'em ups it has, Ketsui and Dodonpachi DOJ are two of the best bullet hell's ever! Thanks for all the work on the cores.

Joseybear

If it can't be MK/Midway board/s then CPS3...

Josh Bangs

I became a member to be able to vote for and support the development of a CPS3 core. This would mean a lot for the FGC.

Tulius Striderryu

If I could choose anything else I say Sega System 32 or Taito F3 system are even better than these two. Anyway PGM system has more games not ported to consoles like CPS3 games.

GLENDIZER

CPS3 all the way !

Mark Kilborn

I voted PGM but I’m down with either. Hopefully in time both will make it.

Lynk

Secretly wishing for Namco System 22 (not sure it fits on the Mister though)

Dacasks

From preservation standpoint you gotta go with CPS3. These boards are just kamizake, had 3 boards, the 3 simply stopped working for no f reason with no repair possibility. It's such a trash piece of hardware, you can't help to think it was made to fail so you had to buy another one. Also from gaming/emulation history point of view you gotta go with it. For years emulation of it was so ellusive, and from the few games available Third Strike is important to a whole community/competitive gaming scene, that would benefit greatly by having a FPGA option handy. Commercial ports and emulation are just subpar as well until this day.

aoalej

Cps3 core would be a new competitive standard for 3S offline so that’s where my vote goes

GigaBoots

CPS3. I signed up at a yearly credited tier just to vote for this. Mad respect for everything you do.

David Allen

Anyone arguing against CPS3 on the basis of it only having 6 games, none of the other options can run 3rd Strike so the argument is basically invalid

Kyle Lester

Signed up for your Patreon just to say PGM 😁

Alonzo

Not a big fighter guy but Red Earth looks interesting, never heard of it before. Capcom game with fatalities sounds unusual

Joey

X-Men and Simpsons arcade!

JakeTheDog

Please give us the CPS3, this would be the biggest gift of them all! Also getting Rainbow Islands is big news, hoping for New Zealand Story or the follow-up Bubble Bobbles one day

Matt

PGM! We need an accurate Ketsui port that can be played on a CRT.

lamasutra

hmm, konami xexex asterix, without mame glitches or sega after burner II - x board with 2 x 68000 cpus

EkDor

R-Type

Abelardo Vidal (Masked Ninja)

CPS3 es casi 1 solo juego. PGM tiene Demon Front, Dodonpachi Daioujou, EspGaluda, Knights of Valour, Ketsui....

Pixel Cherry Ninja

For anyone wondering why CPS3? It's because Street Fighter 3 Third Strike is still popular and played competitively even today. JoJo's is another game people really like. On fightcade SF3 3S is usually the most popular game.

Mickaël Renou

PGM of course ! In terms of legendary games, PGM Vs CPS3 is a 4:1 score.

Darren Chell

PGM offers a much more varied selection of titles whereas CPS3 is very weighted towards one genre

James Nivin

PGM for sure! Demon front is gorgeous, and I just love the knights of valour series. Cps3 can come after :) but honestly ether way I’ll be happy, Just can’t lose!

Retro Games Mania

PGM, I think it is a hardware to discover and replicate, because it brings a very large and different title fleet from the more than excellent CPS3 system. This could be considered later . Although my dream would be the namco system 22.

Angelo Kanaris

Absolutely love Capcom & CPS3... though it feels like now is a good time to show some love towards PGM and make this hardware more accessible.

Kaya Bear

3rd Strike may be the greatest fighting game ever made, and it's hardware is proportionally as rare and difficult as the game is good. If yall fix this, yall grow from becoming legendary to becoming mythical.

Michael Martin

I voted "Other"; my pick is Taito F3 as I'm confident MiSTer could handle it, especially with Sega Saturn development being the the works. The Saturn had various ports of Taito F3 games; the most notable ones being Elevator Action Returns and Bubble Symphony. Taito, is one of my favorite arcade developers and being able to play Space Invaders '95 would be damn awesome! Please stay safe, Ukrainian citizens.

Lee Turner

Hardware availablity permitting, in the future I'd love to see FPGA's of Chase H.Q 1/2 Crime City, Violence fight, Growl, Operation wolf/Operation Thunderbolt

Salvador Perugorria Lorente

I've voted PGM. CPS 3 is great, but games won't work on MiST, and it's more known than PGM.

Muriel Melvin

I know everyone loves Capcom but there’s already SO much Capcom coverage. It would be cool to see something more unique like PGM.

Mr. Mystery

Cps3 and the hopefully the mortal kombat games. If you could get Naomi working, I will vote for you for president.

Todd Lemons

I'm a fan of cps3, but PolyGame Master would bring more value imo, mainly the CAVE ports, Demon Front, and lots of other cool stuff.

Dionys Descois

It's very good the CPS3 BUT the PGM is much superior playfully

Rob Beard

I'd love to see CPS3 but I've chosen PGM as it seems that it's got quite a lot of fans and some interesting games.

Johan Smolinski

Easy. Both CPS3 and PGM. In that order. After that, everything else. :)

Nathan

twin cobra flying shark

Tony Vo

How about golden axe 2 death adders revenge

추리하다

SF3rd is all time best fignting game for me. I have a cps3 original board but it's a just too big size because it includes a cd-rom.

Grant Stewart

CPS3 would be such a big deal! PGM would be great too but a lot further down the line for me than CPS3

JPS (RetroFPGA)

PGM has much more good games. CPS3 will win of course, because more people know about it.

JiP

Mr do's Castle :)

Theodore Huber

Namco system 86 (rolling thunder pcb)
