Sabine is just asking questions: Academia is it Communism?

Sabine is just asking questions about whether Academia is Communism and we need to totally defund it, so together with guest Mickey Inzlicht, we ask our own questions about YouTube incentives and Sabine's hyperbolic tendencies. "All these elites are idiots and nobody listens to me explain why they're all wrong." Says every single one of these gurus... They all have some feelings about not being included, recognized and celebrated the way they know, deep down, that they really deserve. A common psychological profile, isn't it?

I guess "centrally planned" refers to grant calls? There is some "central planning" in the sense that funders (often, but not always, governments) say they'd especially like you to apply yourself to a particular problem or area, although you don't have to. In her case is she saying that funders only want to fund string theory, and this is centrally planned? It's not a great argument (I'm sure non-string theory grants are very possible, they just have to be stronger applications from stronger applicants) but maybe that's what she means.

It’s too bad you can’t get these out a lot quicker. The YouTube algorithm promotes content if it’s relevant. Like in one or two days at the latest. Or within a few hours if it’s popular channels. Since your content is responding to other content, it would likely show up in related. Food for thought

after this I'm going to defund sabine. although I think she could be saying what she thinks the right wants to hear along with click bate, so plenty will replace me

Nothing is as aggrieved as mediocrity scorned.

Very annoying that it's taken as read now that affirmative action measures or DEI is "anti meritocracy". I'm under the impression that it was always about ensuring that people who are actually qualified, but don't fit the image of a qualified person (i.e., a straight, usually white, usually guy) have a fighting chance to get that opportunity. Hearing Sabine talk about restoring the glorious "meritocracy" when the US cabinet is currently populated with the least qualified ass-kissers in American history is just wild.
