Join us as we endure the consequences of our samsaric sins and painstakingly rate the insufferable hosts of the All In podcast through an in-depth analysis of 11 factors! Watch as we valiantly struggle to score the billionaire tech bros while Matt succumbs to lumping them together like an undistinguished blob. Thrill as we navigate scores of narcissism, grievance-mongering, and anti-establishment sentiments, all while wallowing in the sheer excitement of rich venture capitalists who think they're philosopher-kings. I wonder if anti-establishmentarianism needs to be revisited in the age of MAGA and Trump. It really feels like, unfortunately, someone like David Sacks is part of the establishment these days.

Lucky the people fondling the Wall Street bull have never entered the fine city of Rockhampton from the south.

I could never spell that. Or tchotchke (sp?) )!!! Tongue twisters.

Listening to the Besties makes me feel like my soul needs a hot shower. Thanks for not playing any more excerpts. Agree with your ratings!

Chris, Jason Calicanis is the moderator. David Friedberg is the artificial meat. VCs are people too!

How did you not mention the tequila for profiteering! The investment fund that Jason runs isn't a grift. I think you misunderstood what it was. I'm not aware that he receives special consideration on those deals. The investors are all accredited investors which would be the same filter as most funds. Chamath promoting SPACs everywhere is the grift and he's doing it again! 10 out of 5 for him.

The all in pod started as a business podcast, then platformed RFK as a grievance against the Democratic Party. Sacks has always been a hard-r Republican, but Chamath embodies the great right wing shift of podcasters: it does seem as if the constant thrum of content creation makes one shift ever rightward, accelerated by $$$. The pod was a way for smart geeks to rebrand as serious & cool. Peel away the billions, Botox & Bentleys, they’re unimportant nerds who want to fit in.

It speaks to Chris’ utter dedication to DtG that he rated all 4 guys separately. I admire that. I’m afraid I was much like Matt & all the dudes tended to blend into a blob.

Grignard Girlie

I’m not sure that any of them count as anti establishmentarian because they embody and actively work to prop up “the establishment”. A billionaire is about as establishment as someone can get!

Studying a religion (studying, not practising) is a lot like meeting the author of your favourite franchise. Not much will be added to your enjoyment of the IP, and when the legal case starts you are likely to feel somehow implicated.

At the risk of making myself a target for rotten vegetables…have you considered rating the theme tunes of the gurus?

jubshit

Is this a follow on episode for a longer episode? I can't seem to find the original podcast.

pr

Was there a podcast Chris mentioned? Maybe Notify? Hundreds of episodes, maybe one about anti Jewish conspiracies?

Matt Dear

I don't think the lack of rivet in the episode is in any way down to you two, you were the reason I actually stuck it out for almost halfway. It's more the rich wankers chatting shit and being insufferable, in a way that isn't even entertaining in it's novelty, it's just banal.

Ryan Bruno

I think you should add “are they an asshole?” or “would you have a drink with them?” Or “are they malicious?” as an exploratory measure to the gurometer. though it is not a measure that is important for catching gurus, it might be useful for distinguishing between them. I think two people could score high as gurus but one could be doing their best and another is genuinely and intentionally abusing their audience in someway. I am sure there are other exploratory measures you could add to further categorize sub types of gurus, but this is one that could be interesting in my opinion

I was able to get through listening to Chris and Matt rating these numpties, but I couldn’t stomach them , I couldn’t finish the actual episode.
