In this Guru grab bag, we're discussing RFK Jr.'s new 'panel of experts' on vaccines, Joe Rogan's hypocritical attacks on Flint Dibble, and Lex Friedman's self-aggrandising tweets; it's a veritable parade of arrogant waffle and conspiracism. For a change, we also highlight more discourse around the lab leak- what a novel development!

This is editor Andy's collection of snippets from recent Supplementary Material with some added visuals. The editing of the new Naval decoding continues... should be released this weekend.

Poor Bret is so diminished in comparison to the others. Is Editor Andy trying to tell us something?

Colin

Nice! the classics.

Elissa

Why does this graphic remind me of the Goodfellas poster??

Vivian

4:09 Timestamp “Why did you tell me this?😭” Is the most accurate other working title for this show.

Matt your hair is unreal! Jesus that's embarrassing that your man is trying to use the Irish card...feck right off Indeed. I kept thinking "shower of bastards."

Invermectin and fasting? Yo, what about coffee enemas? An anti cancer trifecta!!

Duncan

Sounds like Rogan has a bad case of Flint Dibble Derangement Syndrome (FDDS). It may be incurable.

Colin

The lesson I get from Flint Dibble's story is: Never, ever try to go on Joe Rogan and earnestly explain the details of something in your area of expertise. Do not do it, unless you want to be bullied and mocked by Joe and his subsequent guests in front of millions of people. So that is absolutely terrible, since he's the world's largest media outlet.

Ahhh, I was missing a little Lexual healing. I’ve avoided aural Lex. I’ve sworn off oral Lex. No more early morning Lex. And definitely no having Lex by myself. And then I come and listen to this and it’s the Joy of Lex all over again. I guess this is my Lex life now.

The ivermectin story is MUCH more interesting than Brett and his ilk realise (discussion around 21:30). The argument of ivermectans like Bret is that ivermectin isn't used for covid (or cancer, and the countless other uses they claim) because it is off patent and couldn't make any money. But, ironically, ivermectin is actually the single greatest example of pharmaceutical industry philanthropy in history. When Merck scientists realised that ivermectin (then being developed for veterinary use) could be used to cure onchocerciasis (river blindess) they knew they would never make any money off of it, because the people who would benefit were all impoverished. Not only that, but there was no means of distribution. Merck went ahead and did the clinical trials to develop it and gain approval anyway, committed up front to giving it away for free for as long as needed, and worked with the WHO to develop the distribution networks in Africa and Yemen. Merck is still giving away something like 100 million treatments a year, and as ivermectin has been useful in more diseases in impoverished areas, Merck keeps giving it away. Of course it's more complicated than just simple charity. Merck gains goodwill, tax benefits, and builds its international network through the program. But it's hilarious to me that Bret and his fellow-travellers pick on ivermectin as the villain of pharmaceutical greed, when it is in fact the model of pharmaceutical charity that others would aspire to follow.

You laugh at ‘Merica but our pharmaceutical prices are being reduced 500% and our vaccine tariffs are bringing in Trillions of dollars!

The Theo Von interaction with the MMA French-Canadian reminds me of the way some of my students will talk. There is so much on the internet, with different people saying different things, and conspiracies can be real, so there’s got to be a them behind the scenes running things and keeping it hidden from us. So much confusion and mistrust is going on out there.
