He is a populist guru type himself

Ah cool! I seen he had gary on but I didn't watch it so this will be good to hear!

Never heard of this guy before. I like him. And his defence of Gary has a point. Although I can’t disagree that Gary’s gotten a little messianic of late. But it’s a fair point. We’ve tried to be nuanced and subtle, and the response is populists who drown us out with volume and simplicity. Anyway, really enjoyed the chat. 👍🏼

I don't think Conrad listens very well. At the beginning you explained that gurus aren't just people that are negative/dangerous. Then a few minutes later at 12m50 he asked "can you be a good guru? Can you be a trusted guru?". If he was listening he would have known you addressed that a few minutes earlier.

I feel like extensive research on the effects of vaping is a factor of being a highly enthusiastic vaper... certainly in my case anyway I switched to Nordic Spirit now. Which is great for quitting vaping. But pretty terrible if you'd already quit vaping...

Really enjoyed this conversation

I was a little disappointed to hear Chris dismiss the gurometer as something “tongue in cheek.” I was under the impression that the gurometer is a highly technical machine that uses the latest statistical metrics, exotic three dimensional graphs, esoteric models, and complicated scales as well as interlocking gears whirring and spinning around. It is a complex, valuable instrument!!!

Konrad seems decent and I sympathise with his concerns, but I think he heavily underrates how corrosive a fast-and-loose-with-the-facts approach can be. I think you made that point well yourselves. Also Chris and Konrad shooting down Matt's 'simple' gambling explainer was funny. I was with you Matt 🫡

Candice

An episode where you get a guest to gurometer you would be fun!

YellowDreams

As a kiwi this guy struck me as very Australian. Very much so. Good convo tho

Tasty3141

Surprised you answered his questions about your personal assets lol but very transparent which is a big trust marker but wouldn't hold it against anyone to be "um that's none of your business" hahah

Roland Weber

Thanks, that was entertaining and interesting! 😃

I just want to point out that the boy band thumbnail has solidified the stereotypes—Chris, the intense brooding “bad boy,” Matt, the sweet natured brains of the group, Konrad, the jokey flirt always up for a laugh.
