We join Andrew Gold for a Heretical interview with Steve Laws, an openly racist ethnonationalist who advocates “total remigration” and expresses sympathy for authoritarian solutions. Andrew frames the conversation as an exercise in responsible journalism: confronting dangerous ideas head-on, challenging them directly, and allowing audiences to hear such views uncensored rather than pretending they do not exist.

But... it is hard not to notice the repeated assurances of broad ideological sympathy, the friendly banter, and the shop-talk comparisons of follower counts and audience makeup. Andrew is, understandably, not on board with his guest’s most extreme rhetoric, including a plan that would see Andrew himself deported, but he is clearly pleased that such heretical and attention-grabbing statements are on his show. Is this fearless journalism or Accidental Partridge? You decide!

Asking me to sign in on YouTube, but the link doesn’t work.

When I heard Chris's description of Steve Laws I thought he was being mean. Nope, turns out the guy looks exactly like the kind of dweeb one imagines making claims about belonging to the "superior race", LOL

This should be a viral moment. If only someone would snitch tweet it on Andrew Gold’s thread. If Andy, Chris or Mattrix were like Partridge.

There’s a place for “let them hang themselves” journalism, but to do that Gold would have had to actually interrogate the logic of Laws’ position. Like the fact that his plans would involve millions of deportations, including the King, and lots of people traditionally thought of as British. Winston Churchill wouldn’t survive his definition. But no, instead we get this faux chummy, “I get your concerns” bullshit. But then, why am I even surprised?

Bad statistics aside, this episode really nailed home how fragile, insecure, aggrieved, and boy-like Chris Williamson is. I can understand his frustration, because I guess women that discovers his content would be immediately and forever turned off to the idea of engaging with him romantically. I think it probably goes deeper than the grift for him.
